Re: Biopunk?

Are there plans for any of the cosms to be associated Biopunk/ genetically modified characters? I feel like this is somewhat hinted at for Pan Pacifica, but I wasn't around for OTorg so don't know if they ever had those aspects. Pan-Pacifica is certainly going to be biopunk. Woo! Is this going to b...

Re: Urkaan world laws

The card might be useful, but as far as body-mod perks go, they're kind of irrelevant unless/until they're listed and some mechanism becomes available for them to be obtained. True, though a transformed character could still "start" with such perks. Not relevant in your player's case, of ...

Re: Cyberpapacy aesthetic

I'd recommend the new movie, Battle Angel Alita for anyone wanting a view of the less-churchy sections of the Cybrpapacy. Really the movie works better for a view of the "civilized" parts of Tharkold.

Re: Urkaan world laws

Isn't there a card that creates a personal mixed zone of the reality you're currently standing in and your home cosm? Bit of a corner case but it's the one time a "dead" or unreachable reality's laws would come into play. In terms of perks... I dunno. The axioms suggest that they'd have v...

Re: Urkaan world laws

I think I forgot when I first started this thread that World Laws only had an effect within the reality they're of, that you can't carry (or inflict) them in other realities like in Old Torg. Really the main thing I probably needed was the Psionic powers that'd be available to somebody of Urkaan rea...

Re: Best 3 Reams to hop between for a globe hopping adventure?

I'm liking the idea of Aylse/Cyberpapacy/Nile Empire. High Magic, High Tech and then a mix of both in the Nile then lends to generalized weirdness. Plus, absent information about Aylse, I'm going with the idea of a kind of "hate triangle" between the three. Uthorian and Malraux dislike Mob...

Re: Someone has to do it....

I don't want to say anything that leaks material before U.S. is ready and undercuts the Kickstarter previews once they start up, plus the people working on the Aysle Sourcebook are here on the forums and can inform this thread better than I can. But I'm working on the Aysle mega-adventure and have ...

Re: Someone has to do it....

Yeah, if we focus on the original folklore and not what they evolved into in D&D, we can blow some minds. Expose players to original goblins, gnomes, and trolls (which I just found out in Wikipedia sometimes turned to stone in sunlight, so well played Tolkein). The Dresden Files is really good ...

Re: Someone has to do it....

I'd recommend getting hold of an old edition of Dave Morris's Dragon Warriors game and just drinking in the atmosphere and descriptions in it. Damn, those books had more influence on my style of play than any other RPG series. 'Blood Sword' is the best written 'choose you own adventure' series ever...

Re: Someone has to do it....

One thing I'd kind of like to see is the idea that Light doesn't necessarily mean "good" and Dark doesn't necessarily mean "evil." Like a Dark character can be violent or chaotic, but also independent or creative. A Light character can be honorable and courageous but also self-ri...
