Re: Requisitioning multiple items

I've sometimes used a BD for items like grenades, arrows, etc. With +1BD for good/+2BD outstanding.

Re: Different Contradictions in one action

Thanks for the clarification. I've been running it that way; that all those examples were contradictions. So i can rest calmly )))

Re: Different Contradictions in one action

I'd consider the action "block strike with a power dagger" as a whole for contradictions, so 4-case for me. Contradictions are on the basis of the tool, not the action. Sorry for my dysfunctional mind. Are Perks considered tools? In OT a "tool" didn't have to be physical. Spells...

Re: Different Contradictions in one action

I'm kind of the opposite of Pkitty, I'm pretty certain that Contradictions need to have a roll/test. So if there is no test, then it doesn't come up. So Surge and restrictions only for those that you use by spending shock, etc. I'm actually fuzzy on the power dagger example. It's one test that bring...

Re: Old School Perspective

Players make their characters based on the rules in the book and (reasonably) expect to be able to do the thing the rules say they can do. This is why after gaming for 25+ years I'll still post on forums and ask for the official way things work. I've played in way too many games where the GM will s...

Re: Old School Perspective

As a 10 yr old kid just starting out playing would you have ripped out a section of rules and reworked it to suit your play style? A few years later though and you may have decided to do so. Actually yes, that's exactly what I did at 10 years old. My first intro to RPGs (D&D) was with a GM who ...

Re: Playing Torg online

I have a very successful TE game online using roll20. There is a TE character sheet that allows you to make rolls, spend possibilities, UPs, etc. It works well both TotM and grid based. There is a card system that can be used for all the cards. make yourself or buy the official ones. It takes a litt...

Old School Perspective

This thread is basically in reply to a lot of comments made in other threads that I didn't want to disrupt. I'll try hard not to be an old curmudgeon, but wanted to add my opinion (probably stated in bits and pieces in other threads)... This might seem a bit like "In my day we didn't have X and...

Re: Too Much Tactical Analysis

If the complaint is that RP is falling by the wayside however one thing to add as has been mentioned is enforce the use of roleplay in any card play or interaction attack. A player just can't say "I use maneuever ", they need to say what they're actually doing and describe it to the group...

Re: House Rules

Right, I know. The "you" in my post was aimed at the people who want to change this as a house rule. IMO either change all attribute-buff perks in your game or leave them be. Which is what i do. I just used super attribute and super skill as examples, because they were readily on my mind....
