Re: Aysle Preview #6 - Threats

If Great Dragons really are "Concentrated Darkness", I would say that if you actually convert one to Light, they would fade away. Probably with beautiful hazy rainbow effects or something. Vampires should never, ever have sparkled, in any iteration, in any universe. Neither should dragons.

Re: How do people handle new, more specialized Perks coming out?

My home group is firmly in the 'play the character you want to play' camp. In more than one campaign, we've had someone discover that their concept just isn't working out - often because it's a new ruleset for us. If it can be done within story and/or rules parameters, so much the better (one player...

Re: New Cyberware Ideas

Rather than Tower of babel for the translator, how about Tongues of Pentecost? (That being the event in the New Testament where the Apostles were speaking and people from all over could understand them in their various native languages - regarded as a direct undoing (at least for a moment) the curse...

Transformation? I think we have some going on right here in Seattle even as we speak! XD Image
(This is a piece of 'public art' recently put up, not far from the Space Needle. Every time I see it, I think of the Living Land...)

Re: Creative Interpretation of Text as Given – Reality-Rated Individuals in Untouched Cosms

As to your other point, in my mind pretty much all possibility/ reality skill stuff is unconscious from the POV of the character, including modern-day Possibility War Storm Knight characters. That's how the old novels were written and I suppose that informs my perception of how it works. Though I i...

Re: Creative Interpretation of Text as Given – Reality-Rated Individuals in Untouched Cosms

I lean heavily against house rules - my operating assumption is that any particular set of published RPG rules are intended to create certain effects within that game, and changing those rules distorts the intention, and (in my experience) tends to nullify what is supposed to be special about that g...

Re: What real world date should Orrorsh be set at?

Ignore real world history, and just decide what you want available, then account for why it's like that by making up a rationale based on the cosm's fictional history. Gaea doesn't have the same restrictions, it might seem like 19th century Core Earth, but the evolution of its technology almost cer...

Re: New ruling: Spells, miracles, psionic powers end if the target gets out of range or line of sight.

I tend to agree - it turns any darkness or obscure effect into a 'GM shuts down the support caster' toy, not to mention makes dungeon-crawl type scenes (or house investigations and the like) into a time of "send the support caster to get coffee and donuts while everyone else do the cool stuff.&...

Re: Kaiju and Mecha in Pan-Pacifica

My group is just beginning to tinker with the idea of kaiju for our local convention event this year - though our adventure arc is more about the creation of kaiju than fighting them - villains smuggling 'special' dinosaur eggs from the Living Land, doing things to them, all the while messing with C...
