Re: A few questions from a new guy

The only thing that I’d think you might want more of are stymied/very stymied/vulnerable/very vulnerable tokens. For example, one cast of the Stun spell can make 5 enemies Very Stymied. You only have 2 tokens. If you want to use tokens, you either want a lot more or use something else. I find that ...

Re: When do you allow subplots to be played in combat?

When playing them I do require them to go down into the pool, mainly so I can kind of plan for it if necessary. If discarding for a possibility then they just do as that's not playing the card.

Re: House rule so PCs can own personal vehicles -- thoughts?

I kind of like the Possibility trade-off. (Only one Possibility, though; that's all a Prodigy gets. This is also comparable to the Law of Decay, and yeah, that suggests that two might be quite reasonable, but it feels too regular to me.) And yes, I totally think it could apply more broadly. But it'...

That's my plan for a Deadlands Realm, with Raven as the Gaunt Man's Lieutenant.

Re: House rule so PCs can own personal vehicles -- thoughts?

For vehicles that would be a very situational bonus. If the adventure involved spelunking through an Aylsish dungeon/cave system and the team vehicle is an Oda Hornet, it's not like the Hornet would be that useful. However, if a battle in Aylse involved a flying dragon and the GM didn't want the Ho...

Re: House rule so PCs can own personal vehicles -- thoughts?

Reading through the John Carter RPG and how they treat core equipment got me to thinking. What if a Signature Vehicle (or weapon or whatever) meant that if the GM took it away or otherwise had it unavailable the player gained 1-2 Possibilities? Essentially makes the perk still useful if the item isn...

I'm not sure The Porkchop Express would be a signature vehicle beyond the fact that it's named. It's only real use in the movie is as a catalyst to get Jack involved in the adventure.

Re: House rule so PCs can own personal vehicles -- thoughts?

It's never been a problem for our group, they either get assigned a vehicle by the council or find one nearby if it's needed for the story.

Maybe they simply need a cantrip perk that bundles together a few utility spells or miracles.

Or maybe a perk that lets you cast those smaller things as a use of the skill but at a slightly higher difficulty?
