Re: Broken Combo?

This combo just isn't a problem. First, it's harder than it sounds. Second, it only affects one enemy (not groups), and any enemy worth spending resources to get that kind of roll is going to be possibility rated and has a good chance of soaking. Third, If you're going to get that kind of roll, ther...

Yeah, we'll definitely go back to Fires of Ra.

I like the term "palate cleanser"

Nothing like a trek through the Malaysian jungle with corrupted horrors at your heels to make you yearn for ranks of shock troopers. ;)

Re: Aysle Preview #10 - When Cosms Collide

Looking forward to this mega-adventure a lot - it's what I loved about OTorg, before it jumped the shark. We ended up stopping Fires of Ra 1/3rd way in... maybe pick it up later if group has interest. An adventure consisting of 7 (long) acts in one cosm is like eating cheesecake for dinner every day...

Re: Aysle Preview #9 - Magic Items (Part 1)

Curious to see what this looks like. My guess is that the Axiom 23 for major items is so that they can be called semi-sentient, to provide a story justification for the attunement rule. It's a pretty hefty story justification to exert a simple balance rule. All artifacts being fully sentient means t...

Re: Fires of Ra Discussion and Questions

Hopefully your GM will find the other acts more useable as-is. It's a done deal now, but rest assured that we're using different methods in other adventures. Sometimes we'll have plot scripts, other times we'll have open areas with a goal but no given plan. Oh, I'm sure he'll find other uses for cu...

Re: Fires of Ra Discussion and Questions

Great! Go for it! <points at Infiniverse Exchange> Be the change you want! I'd love to, but after 60+ hour work weeks on a startup, kids, chores, etc., I'm lucky to get my sacrosanct 3-4 hour gaming session in every other week. So it's, "please take my money!" instead. I'm sure there are ...

Re: Fires of Ra Discussion and Questions

So I of course agree with Genius Code Monkey... I've already expressed this earlier in the post on the God Box. I understand the rationale for creating a railroad tour through the Nile Empire, though I still disagree with it. I did want to comment on the notion that Nile Empire is the realm of "...

Re: Orrorsh should drop a Maelstrom Bridge into New Mexico - Old West / Horror

So let's play this out: Orrorsh reality in old southwest: Already covered. (BTW, it's not just Los Alamos... there's Roswell, Sandia National Labs, Area 51, Kirtland AFB). One thing I did forget... lots of oil drilling on public land, especially with the Permian Basin and fracking technology. Don't ...

Re: Orrorsh should drop a Maelstrom Bridge into New Mexico - Old West / Horror

Having lived in new mexico a couple of years, it's not the "classic southwest" you might think. Most of the population lives in a handful of cities. Albuquerque (which is 95% americanized with cookie-cutter neighborhoods), Santa Fe (which is urban hipsters with too much money who like sout...
