Re: My very first Torg purchase

My first purchase was also the boxed set, and also at a Waldenbooks, but it's also after I'd been playing Torg for several months. I was deployed in Operation Desert Storm, and the Doc was also a gamer and had brought along his boxed set. We wound up dragging in one other person who knew what RPGs a...

Re: PC Transformation Ideas

That seems like an easier transition than most. He's effectively a special forces soldier concentrating in melee. Keep him stealth specialized, then add some appropriate cyberware - Low-Light MK II (ignore 2 points of darkness penalties), Encrypted Comms (silent communication), and a Integrated Body...

3D Printed Files

I've been printing up some minis for use in our games, and it's been fun. Here, for instance, is a great collection for living land dinosaurs, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:746304. Wondering if anyone else has some good links or collections to use for Torg? In general, I've been able to find pre...

Living Land Healing

How often do you check for natural healing in the Living Land? Core Rules: Under Law of Life, "Wounds heal quickly under the influence of this law..." No specific details. Day One Adventures: Act III Living Land, "Healing happens fast in the Living Land, every 12 hours, but not fast e...

Re: Fires of Ra Discussion and Questions

That looks like a tough encounter. Her armor bonus comes from a breastplate, so presumably that's Torso-only protection. Which means it can be bypassed with a -2 to hit. But her dodge is also pretty high (13) so to get that +2 damage (from ignoring armor) you'd need to hit 1...

Re: Telekinesis errata

Deanna, I'm a bit unclear on how vertical range works now. 1. Someone is flying over my head, 20m in the air. I want to grapple them with TK. Cool? 2. Once I've grappled them, if my TK is strong enough, can I pull them down to earth? 3. I can't lift myself, but if I'm strong enough to lift someone ...

Re: Too Much Tactical Analysis

I'll just say it's probably the group rather than the system, because my own experience has been almost the exact opposite of yours. I have a group that includes several D&D players who usually do play tactically as you describe. In Torg, they're a lot more free-form and willing to try to just g...

Re: Broken Combo?

Looking into this more, and I'm thinking the resolution might lie within the Fly spell. The spell starts, "While this spell does not allow the mage to soar like a hawk, ..." It specifically allows you to fly up to 50m per turn, counting as running if you move more than your Dex in meters. ...

Re: Broken Combo?

It's also worth noting that grapple allows you to restrain someone. It does not allow you to move them. The Fly spell lets you carry your normal load, but it doesn't give you an ability to do anything else, such as move someone who is resisting. It avoids a lot of problems to simply cut the ability ...
