Re: Fires of Ra Discussion and Questions

My players very rarely use any attack options, I think it's because they don't know what most of them are... so I'm going to create a A5 handout and laminate it so they have a reference ... a "mini player screen". The attack options really do make a massive difference for the tougher figh...

Re: Fires of Ra Discussion and Questions

That looks like a tough encounter. Her armor bonus comes from a breastplate, so presumably that's Torso-only protection. Which means it can be bypassed with a -2 to hit. But her dodge is also pretty high (13) so to get that +2 damage (from ignoring armor) you'd need to hit 1...

Patience is a virtue. You've wait 6 months, a couple more weeks won't matter. @Deanna. This forum is very valuable to me and everyone on it, and I wouldn't want your input to stop just because someone doesn't understand that you guys are doing the best you can with the information you have. Keep up...

Re: Too Much Tactical Analysis

I really dislike this. I used it for 20+ years in Old Torg, but my mentality changed. It's too similar to the Old School rogue/thief trying to backstab. The warrior can swing his big sword as much as he wants, the wizard/cleric can cast their spells as much as they want, but the thief/rogue (or int...

Re: Restrained & Active Defense

Currently there's no clear way (that I know of) to emulate those scenes where Jackie Chan gets grappled by Villain 1, yet somehow manages to redirect Villain 2's punch onto Villain 1. The best you could do is multi-action to a) break free, then b) maneuver, getting a "Player's Call" in th...

Re: Free RPG Day 2019!!!

free RPG does not equate to a product with both lightweight rules and a short adventure. This is true... Just look at the Free RPG Day stuff that came out for Lamentations of the Flame Princess, at least two of which were entire multi-chapter *campaigns*. But I think the general expectation is that...

Yep, another Brit here, and had a notification email from DHL yesterday, for delivery today. So I'd guess other UK backers should be getting there stuff today, or in the next few days. :)

Re: Nile Empire Kickstarter stretch goal PDFs going out

I did err here, but my error was lumping in Pakistan with the Middle East, which I now see was incorrect. And I did mean the Indian sub-continent but obviously I should include Bangladesh separately. I'm pretty sure the accepted definition of the Indian sub-continent includes Pakistan and Banglades...

Re: Nile Empire Kickstarter stretch goal PDFs going out

I don't think most readers would read that and come away from the view that India is a majority Muslim country. I think they would. I would assume that the list is in order of majority, and except for a Dr. Who episode I never knew about the partition. It isn't something that is taught in English s...

Re: Nile Empire Kickstarter stretch goal PDFs going out

Religions of Core Earth, page 12: "Islam is observed by over a billion people worldwide, mostly concentrated in North Africa, the Middle East, India..." Not sure how this got missed, but India is NOT A Muslim nation (the majority are Hindu with less than 15% Muslim). PAKISTAN is a Muslim ...
