Re: Follower Perks

From a story & game point of view, I'd far rather that Followers are tough enough that they can be involved in their master's story without any hit being a likely death sentence. So I can feel like they're fair game if they're in the way during a fight, without feeling like I'm effectively depr...

Re: Major or Minor limitation?

Maybe he's now more susceptible to disconnection. So was thinking maybe 1 case contradictions are now 1-2 and four case now 1-8. Would you consider this a minor or major limitation? Minor for only when that power is used? Major for any contradictions? I could be wrong, and playtesting would see, bu...

Re: Nile Empire Sourcebook Questions

I want this cosm. Too bad New York is taken. Germany is just setting there looking tasty though. I am just saying, those proton packs look suspiciously out-of-axiom to me for Core Earth. And ghosts never showed up in significant numbers until the Ghostbusters built a giant weird machine in a baseme...

Re: Avatar of Darok - Umm.... (God Box Spoiler Warning)

It's any attack that can cause Shock or Wound damage. It is entirely natural to think that Mind Blast should not be a "physical attack", since we tend in our culture to assume a physical/mental dichotomy. My first thought was that this was what the "physical attack" language mea...

Re: Avatar of Darok - Umm.... (God Box Spoiler Warning)

Oops, good catch and thank you. EDIT: I think the argument still stands pretty well though, it still only makes a difference on almost impossible damage rolls of 38+, it just expands the range in which it makes a difference a bit further, and for the purposes of The God Box I think it's all the same...

Re: Avatar of Darok - Umm.... (God Box Spoiler Warning)

Unless I am missing something there is hardly any difference between saying "Toughness 14 and takes half damage from everything" and saying "Toughness 33". In both cases they take 1 Wound from a damage result of 38 to 42, and no damage from lesser rolls which will be almost all o...

Re: Shotgun?

It is a little more complicated but another option for a house rule could be to give every shotgun a +1 damage bonus but double the effect of armour against shotgun hits. Or just say they do no damage against armoured targets. But just the option to use beanbag rounds for non-lethal damage, as speci...

Re: The God Box review (long, somewhat harsh)

My sense of storytelling is that it works better to first establish that there are Gold Sun Edeinos who are cool, then introduce the twist, Malacryx and her followers who are definitely not cool and obviously will try to take over and do bad things. Similarly I think the most satisfying ending for a...

Re: Share your Torg Eternity characters and archetypes!

How would one go about making a Tarzan-ish archetype? There are plenty of related feats in both the LL and Nile. Tarzan was such an all-around awesome dude (as are many pulp protagonists) that I find it hard to pick just a subset of the attributes, skills, and perks - and still make it playable out...
