Entirely new game settings?

So I was browsing the forum and came across a thread talking about stripping away the "Torg" setting and making TE mechanics universal, much in the same way oTorg became the mechanical basis for the "World of" games back in the day. This actually leads me to a similar question......

Re: Cyberpapacy Preview #1 - One Year Later...

There's no question that Tron was an early influence on the cyberpunk genre - despite being more science fantasy than science fiction - and entirely appropriate to be referenced. But Tron is also an anti-communist manifesto under the hood. Released in 1982 in the heart of the Cold War, it has a Com...

Re: Cyberpapacy Preview #1 - One Year Later...

I'll stick this here because I'm sure they'll drop an official thread, but the Cyberpapcy Preview #2 just dropped. It has Bit from "Tron." It has BIT from TRON!!! As a PC companion!!! I have no words. I had Tron *memorized* as a kid. The inner squee is too much. "Great. Another mouth...

Re: Cyberpapacy Preview #2 - Cyberware

The "Tron" reference made my week. My inner monologue just became incoherent happy child noises. :-)

Re: Cyberpapacy Preview #1 - One Year Later...

Glad to see the Cyberpapcy taking more territory this time around. It's always been one of my favorite cosms, although fifteen-year-old-me wasn't quite sophisticated enough yet to fully grok some of what it was trying to do. I just knew it subverted cyberpunk-trope expectations and I dug it back th...

Re: When Cosms Collide Discussion Thread

Lots of really, *really* great stuff to process and digest in this thing! I love the concept of Softpoints, love the hints of things to come with the new kind of Stormer/"soul isotope." It is legitimately great to me to see Torg Eternity showing what it showed with Pan-Pacifica - that it's...

Re: Things you'd like to know about Tharkold

By way of stuff already firmly in oTharkold lore, I'd like to see the Sadomach reimagined as more than just cenobite knock-offs. There's a whole lot of potential there given the implication that they themselves weren't Tharkold natives exactly and served some other power even the Tharkoldu didn't un...

Re: Aysle setting Q&A thread

Have you read Old TORG's War's End ? You know, I *have* War's End but I don't think I ever finished it! Is there more information there? There might, rabbit, there might. I, for one, don't consider it as dispositive on issues. There are things I would rather forget in it. Yeah, this is why I ...
