Re: Preview #9 - The Drama, Destiny, and Cosm Decks

I could see making this work with Google Docs that is available to everyone. On the GM side, you have a list of all of the cards by number. You have another list that duplicates the master list except for numbers that are manually entered in a list that consists of all cards drawn so far (in players...

Re: Preview #10 - Combat Basics

It occurs to me that facing something like a dragon is going to be a truly tough battle in this version - with needing to get within 5 of Toughness to even inflict 1 shock...a dragon with 30ish Toughness and a high Spirit is going to be pretty darn invincible. For hand weapons it looks like you'd b...

Re: Preview #10 - Combat Basics

One of my hobbies involves using Excel to run simulations on these types of things and looking at the outcomes. There are mathematical ways of approaching this, but I seem to prefer the shotgun method lately.

Re: Preview #10 - Combat Basics

To avoid that sort of metagaming, maybe Active Defense should be changed to read that it lasts until the end of the enemy's next turn? Or just during the current card flip? That's how I did it in oTorg. It never actually occurred to me to let the defense roll carry over to the next card. It all got...

Re: Preview #10 - Combat Basics

I'm quite happy to see the interaction results simplified. No need for those long tables that vary from skill to skill. And I won't miss test of wills. I viewed it the same as intimidation really. I'm glad to see active dodge still in play. I assume that one could multiaction an attack and a defense...

Re: Preview #9 - The Drama, Destiny, and Cosm Decks

I'd rather he be ugly later than dead right now. Corruption doesn't do anything to your looks, does it? I just thought it hampered your ability to connect to people. Even getting a single point of Charisma back will cost you over the equivalent of 2 Perks, so it's costly. Didn't I read elsewhere th...

Re: Aysle Reboot

The spell design system surely was something special. It gave magic the feeling of seriousness. On the other hand, it was too complicate. Took me three attempts to basically understand it and I am still not sure if I understood everything. It was too much of a challenge for my players too. So I too...

...Though, speaking as an Atheist, I'm sad to see that piece go. I loved that Atheism was a real power. It was kind of awesome being able to stare down a Cyberpriest and just say, "Nope." I think I prefer the power of atheism to be gone in Torg Eternity honestly. It just had some weird ef...

Re: Preview #9 - The Drama, Destiny, and Cosm Decks

As of now, there's only one thing I'm puzzled by. The Drama Deck is the one that is least important to keep track of by number, yet it is the only one with numbers. Destiny needs to be kept numbered so that players can get the same cards back, and if a cosm needs extra copies of a Cosm card to insu...
