Re: Bioware

Bioware research can play a role in the Possibility Wars. The Cyberpapacy likely would seek to ban it outright. The real reason, of course, is because it's easier to chip cyberware for tracking and loyalty purposes. Naturally, they'll label it blasphemous and seek to destroy any research related to ...

Re: Preview #7 - The Nile Empire and Tharkold

I admit I'm having some trouble reconciling in my imagination, "post nuclear wasteland" with "generally chilly eastern Russia." I blame post-apocalyptic fiction for almost always going with a hot desert setting. It's certainly not a bad combination to have a wintry fallout zone,...

Re: Preview #7 - The Nile Empire and Tharkold

No other reality features as many exclamation points as the Nile Empire! The most accurate anything you could say about Torg. Great marketing slogan. Okay, so Nile is pretty much the same. I didn't like the morality thing anyway, so I'm glad it's gone. The rise of heroes makes better sense anyway. ...

Re: Google map of Core Earth

I wonder how easy it would be to create a time-lapse map. I mean, one could just duplicate the map and enter new coordinates, but it might be neat to see how things were 3 and 6 months ago on the same map.

Re: Google map of Core Earth

I'll take "Things I Sure as Hell Wish We Had in 1990", Alex. This is amazing. I could see having this as a living document for GMs to use while playing. Hell, it's fascinating that you can zoom in and see where things are in relation to the realms. For example, I zoomed in on Louisville, K...

Re: Initiative

I recall that in Old TORG I went by the cards and occasional special abilities. I think I through in something about one combat action per enemy character so you couldn't shoot one dude 87 times in the face. Actually, as I recall, I noted that anything you could do, the bad guys could also potentia...

Re: Preview #6 - Spells, Miracles, and Psionics

Enhance says that a Good success increases the bonus "by +4". Should that be "to +4" or is it that the spell can do +2 or +6 but not +4? Also, given the fact that the average of a dE is 4, maybe increasing it by a dE is just as good as increasing it by +4. I think using dE more ...

TorgHacker wrote:Muammar Gaddafi was mentioned in Original Torg...but yes, mentioning particular people will tend to date it.

I forgot all about that. I remember now how relevant he was at the time.

Probably best if they didn't include Ghaddafi back then. He became irrelevant long before he died.
