Re: Mage Retreat (Aysle spell) question

I'd say not purely from the "No weaponizing obvious utility spells" rule.

Re: Messenger Hawk (Aysle spell) question

If I were to guess, I'd say Animal Spy Network made it clearer because it might have seemed less clear. Messenger Hawk is pretty basic - it sends a thing out to do a thing, so there's no real question that the long range contradiction rules apply. Animal Spy Network is a more complicated concept -- ...

Ouch!

I recommend you don''t. I'm pretty sure that's one of the more strictly monitored keywords.

Re: Cyberpapacy Sourcebook Preview Discussion

Thank you for all of your responses today, Deanna! That felt like a lot for me to go through, and I'm just over here on my side of the fence. And I just wanted to take a minute to say that despite all the little details that we're picking at right now, I'm loving this book! "Sleep. Pray. Work. ...

Re: Cyberpapacy Sourcebook Preview Discussion

I think it's probably better that a lot of that be left vague, so that groups can dial it up or down as they prefer. The CyberPapacy probably touches more on real life triggers than any other cosm. But one of the key bits for me is to remember that that low Social Axiom limits more than just democra...

Re: Cyberpapacy Sourcebook Preview Discussion

Maybe just slip a "willing" in there? "In Bunker mode, the drone envelops one willing target..." Or you could reword it so that it's not, "The target cannot intentionally move from its position," but rather, "If the target moves from its position, they leave the pr...

Re: Cyberpapacy Sourcebook Preview Discussion

I mean, the intention is perfectly clear, but... cosmically, how does Reverence work, under Familiars? It seems to run into the catch-22 that it's a Cosm-limited Perk, and those all go away when you Disconnect, but it only does anything when you're Disconnected.

Re: Cyberpapacy Sourcebook Preview Discussion

The only thing in the core book that implied that it required a cyberlimb was the word "rebuilt", and since all cybertech is rebuilding you I never saw it as requiring a full limb replacement. The note about the "mechanism" being concealed with NeuraSkin seems to emphasize that t...

Re: Transgender characters in Torg Eternity

Sometimes something you think is the smallest little pebble causes the biggest darned ripples. I'm sorry, Deanna, I didn't mean this at all. I wasn't trying to push back or say you were wrong in the way you were doing it, I just saw that - the impossibility of actually playing someone who is... bleh...

Re: Mishap question

I think there's a whole lot to that, really. The concept of Natural 1 and a Natural 20 have been pretty deeply ingrained in many of us by now. If I go to do something and it comes up a 2 or a 3, my instinct is, "Eh, guess not." When it comes up a 1, my immediate response is, "Ack!&quo...
