Re: Some questions

Instead of making a new thread, I'll just throw out the question that I came here to post in this one: Defeat, page 117-8: do wound penalties apply to the roll? What's the DN? Been reading straight through so far and I've seen a bunch of "make a test" statements in the text without specify...

Re: Resetting vs. refreshing Possibilities at the start of an act.

Please define "ages." This was not part of oTorg, and was not originally part of TorgE, either. It wasn't in oTorg because you were required to hoard possibilities to advance. That's no longer the case. As a general mechanic, "hero"-type points that can't be hoarded have been ar...

Re: Resetting vs. refreshing Possibilities at the start of an act.

This whole argument and the ardor on display is rather perplexing to me. "Use it or lose it" hero/destiny/reroll points have been around for ages. There's no harshness involved. The players know going in that they have to use excess possibilities (not even all possibilities!) or they will ...

Or maybe... just spend the possibilities? :?

Re: Preview #4 - Core Earth and the Living Land

I always thought Nile's Spirit was unusually high as well. A pulp fiction realm would, to me, be more about Science! than being able to produce divine miracles. I don't recall it really being utilized much, either, though it's been a long time and maybe I'm forgetting.

Re: getting rid of the silly aspects of Torg

I too am a fan of protecting the niche of characters from different cosms. And TiaMaster, your posts do read as being very argumentative, to me, anyway. Thinking more about the topic, it would be interesting (to me!) if the eventual ability to dip into other cosms' perks was only available to Core E...

Re: Revisiting the Mapping Software question.

I'm not sure the PDF idea really works. You can take an image capture of of the PDF (or part of it) without the default zones, turn that screen capture into a .jpg (or whatever you want) and then draw in your own zones with some graphic software and update them. Add your own hard points maybe, etc. ...

Re: Preview #5 - Aysle and the Cyberpapacy

If anything, what Cyberdeckers need is things that let them be useful in other Cosms. Yeah, this. Fully half the cosms (including Core Earth as one) can't have computers, much less a virtual network of computers. That makes any sort of specialization in the godnet a very limited and campaign-depend...

Re: Revisiting the Mapping Software question.

Is something needed beyond what's already possible with Google Maps?

Re: Near Now News

Yep, I'm going to take a break for a week. It's a ton of work to do it every day in realtime for 8 cosms. And it's not my 'day job' (I'm a weather forecaster). But we'll start back up again about a week or so from now, but it'll be with non-real time progression and fewer updates. I'd say more but ...
