Re: Thoughts on a homebrew perk?

That's what I keep running into. I wouldn't argue that Strength isn't a pretty big deal, especially increasing your base Strength and getting the Toughness with it -- but functionally, this is spending a Perk and giving up Darksight to be a tall Dwarf. Well, a tall, night-blind dwarf with +1 attrib...

Re: Thoughts on a homebrew perk?

Getting hit more doesn’t mean so much when you have a high Toughness. Except for the occasional exploding roll. It's different for PCs than NPCs, as the NPCs hitting the PCs generally won't have the PCs' firepower. My thought is that if you want to start at peak strength, then just do that (i.e. sta...

Re: What's this?

Tharkold cybernetics are explicitly ugly and bulky. I would expect a Race decker or rigger or whatever she is to look substantially different. Not to mention dirtier!

Re: Back archetypes racial limits

The sloth (and stalenger) have full write ups in Ruins of the Living Land. I think the sloth’s Strength tops out at 18.

I don’t suppose we’re getting a similar booklet for the Nile. I would probably let the Robot Man be a little stronger and smarter and less charismatic and spirited.

Re: Share your Torg Eternity characters and archetypes!

The Elf Lordling , Starting PC For a slightly different take of the same idea, I sought to make an elf warrior loaded with all the magic items and capable of casting minor magics, in exchange for a less fancy mount. This character carries the arms and armor of some heroic ancestor (only one of whic...

Re: Printable Day One characters?

Nothing official that I'm aware of. It is a bit of a bear since each character has two sheets.

It would be a fair amount of typing, but if you're using Windows you could enter the characters in my character generator app (see sig) and then print them out using one of the non-Eternity formats.

Re: Aysle Sourcebook Q&A Thread

The Runemaker perk has a star (is contradictory). Are weapons & armor etched with permanent runes also contradictory?

Runed items have a magic axiom of 14. Does that interact with existing enchantments at all? Like if you runed an Enchanted weapon, would it become Arcane?

Re: Aysle Sourcebook Q&A Thread

It does beg the question, why would you every play a character with such limits when you could have the Spellcaster perk instead and cast spells as many times as you wanted. Alchemy has the same issues. At least a bulletsmith can have 6 bullets in existence! Because you want to provide tailored ite...

Re: Aysle Sourcebook Q&A Thread

And a suggestion, from my player: 6. It's a bit hard to swallow the idea that someone can only carry three pebbles, when it seems that the runemaker is just smoothing out stones that are otherwise normal. Upon careful reflection, we realized that this would make much more sense if it was stated (or...

Re: Share your Torg Eternity characters and archetypes!

I like this build both because (A) a gear-focused character has interesting benefits and challenges, and (B) you don't see enough big, strong "arms and armor" elves in fantasy. I'd have probably gone Cha 7, Dex 8, but that's just preference; it's a good build. I'm all for more Tolkien-y e...
