Day One Transformation

In the “Day One: Aysle” adventure, a lion statue comes to life. To quote from the adventure, “This sculpture comes to life and menaces the people in the area.” The Magic axiom of Aysle certainly seems high enough to support a magical living construct. However, the Core Rules state, “The one constan...

Re: Rules questions after running a session

Tia, I feel you on the soak issue. Spending a possibility and not stopping a wound is particularly frustrating. I felt bad when I had to tell a new player their soak didn't do anything. But someone threw a Supporter to help out. I'm just going to be very aware of it and tell people to make sure the...

Re: Rules questions after running a session

I’m beginning to think one of the major reasons for dissatisfaction with the Bonus Dice rules is the lack of player agency in effecting the BD roll. In oTorg, anything that raised the final value of the D20 roll could potentially raise the Bonus Value, which would also directly increase the effect t...

Re: Large Object Contradictions

A gun you can carry around with you preventing it, a car, plane, etc. you're going to have to leave and then its the Gm who decides how long it lasts, etc. But if you disconnect while flying... your basically in a big rock dropping from the sky. What if more than one Storm Knight is using an aircra...

Re: House Rules

The trademark weapon's perk is a bit weak and I changed it to : you are favoured with your favourite arm. Regarding I think an overlooked part of it is that the weapon is never lost. True that doesn't happen too much, except in the Living Land, but it's comforting to know that your favorite gun wil...

Re: House Rules

Although it does seem reasonable that heavy weapons at Tech level 24 and higher will routinely have soft launches to eliminate this problem. Sound plausible? While soft launches help reduce the back blast, they don’t eliminate it. For a cinematic version of a soft launch back blast, see the Stinger...

Re: House Rules

I think so, yes. Please have a look at this wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backblast_area Huh, well, that's what we get for watching movies. We miss out on important details like this. I envision hand-waving this a lot for the cinematic feel. Yes, back blasts are generally ignored in cine...

Re: House Rules

Back Blast Reason for the Rule: Several anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons designed for use by infantry produce a large blast, as hot gases are expelled out the back end of the weapon. These weapons include rocket launchers and recoilless rifles. This is called a Back Blast and is dangerous to any...

Re: Melee vs Unarmed Defense (vs Dodge?)

I find some of the changes made to the Core Rules to be rather puzzling. The Edeinos Death Claw is definitely in the same power range as the Ki Powers and the Pulp Powers. Every single Ki Power and Pulp Power causes a contradiction outside their respective cosms, but now Death Claw does not. Also, t...

Re: Same with Rule Book

It's only slightly more expensive than a long sword ($20) and the axiom is low enough it's only going to conflict in the Living Land. The armor piercing isn't justified without raising the price. Really, a katana isn't any better than any other well-made sword. They just look a lot cooler. I starte...
