Re: Bi-modal chase scenes

Oh no. I get it. You don't want more skills to dump points into and you don't want a character who is good at running and swimming but for some weird reason can't jump (skipped leg day?) I get that. But it does make creating athlete characters... Difficult? Odd?

Re: Bi-modal chase scenes

Rolling the same skill every round doesn't bother me in chases anymore than it bothers me in combat. It's all about how the action is narrated and how the circumstances change from round to round. In a driver/pilot situation, the character can multi-action to both advance to the next step and inter...

Re: Bi-modal chase scenes

Not gonna lie, the whole "make 4 of the exact same rolls in a row" change to Dramatic Combat in TorgE is one of my least favorite things about the new edition. "Oh, you're REALLY crummy at this one skill? Welp, you gotta pass it 4 times or you're gonna get et! And yeah, everybody in ...

Re: Bi-modal chase scenes

So it occurred to me that chase scenes can involve more than one mode of travel. I discovered this by accident while running a demo where the Storm Knights recovered a mystical Egyptian idol from inside a museum at the same time as a technodemon also found it. After I let them know some of the tech...

Re: The Living Land Sourcebook Thread

One small thing that bugs me. I know languages sometimes do things like this, but... "Keta Kalles" is supposed to mean "Way of Lanala" in edeinos. But "Lanala" is already an edeinos word, and appears nowhere in the phrase. Is it technically "Way of the Goddess&quo...

Re: The Living Land Sourcebook Thread

Alternately, if she transforms to a Core Earth character maybe she doesn't want to go back. Maybe she sees the advantage in things like cars and iPods and crop rotation. Valley Girl Lanala: I know I should, like, go back, but I, like, don't wanna. "Like, oh my Me, you guys! Have you ever had a...

Re: The Living Land Sourcebook Thread

Also, we know (from her statblock) that she can be manifest outside of the LL, but that Avatars are a contradiction if the Spirit axiom is <18 (Core P233). So what happens if she rolls a 1 in a low Spirit area? Does she disappear in a puff of logic, or does she disconnect (&, lacking a Reality ...

Re: How many players

3 to 5 players is an ideal size group for my preference. Any more and you run the risk of boredom at the table while others so their thing and you wait to take your turn, any fewer and the risk is too few resources.

Re: How many Storm Knights?

Sorry, didn't mean to ask for exact numbers :) What I really meant was 'are they fairly rare'? Is it like an MMO where there's thousands of active Storm Knights all going around doing missions, or are the PCs meant to be one of a relatively small number of groups? Well there's enough that they have...
