Re: Various attacks with a multi-action

Would the "max damage" rule above also apply to a multi-action of different interaction skills? For example, would a multi-action maneuver/taunt against the same opponent only cause the greater of the maneuver or the taunt effect, and not cause a cumulative effect? My gut says the answer ...

Re: Living Land Preview #5 - Thrakmoss!

Looks like a Rek Stalek gotak with a bunch of gospog could be a big problem for the SKs. Especially if they had minions. I wonder if we'll see any other cosms get these miracles, maybe style aysle dark exemplars? Any chance you'll preview the non-baddie gotak list/perk? I'm guessing they won't get t...

Re: House Rules

Edit: Another error! My simulation marked Mishaps as Even because I assigned a value of 0 to it. The actual percentage is 53.2% according to my simulation. You probably should count mishaps as even, since they're never going to cause you to hit your ally. On account of you're going to miss no matte...

Re: House Rules

Everything you do to soften the restriction on firing into melee benefits ranged attackers on both sides compared to melee combatants on both sides. I disagree. I think this benefits melee fighters far more than ranged fighters. Let's take a simplified example. Anton is fighting a technodemon in me...

Re: XP gap between optimised and non-optimised builds

Then again even characters like that would still be at the very top end of what is humanly possible, not superhuman, and hence far below the power level of a High Lord and their Darkness Device. But they're peak human capacity at everything which is a far cry from peak human capacity at just someth...

Re: XP gap between optimised and non-optimised builds

When people play to optimize the roles instead of the rolls, many of these problems disappear. I'd counter that the problem is the (real or perceived) way the system "punishes" people for trying to build to their chosen role, rather than optimize mechanically. And the nature of the specif...

Re: XP gap between optimised and non-optimised builds

My preferred solution to the weirdness caused by linear chargen costs and exponential postgen costs is to just not have exponential postgen costs. It seems to work well enough in the Chronicles of Darkness games from Onyx Path, and as I understand it they're using it again in the system their buildi...

Re: [Crunchy] Variant: TorgE as a point-buy system

You could try something like FFG's Star Wars game, where starting characters get a combination of linear points and XP at char gen. It has it's own weirdness, like how chargen XP is the only time you can spend it on raising attributes directly (rather than raising them with essentially the end-point...

Re: Keta Kalles Dogma/doctrine questions

I've been assuming specific doctrinal details must vary from clan to clan, or even tribe to tribe. Justs looking at some of the descriptions in the core book the Ghost clan are described as being unusual for wearing dyed leather (it could of course be the treated and dyed part that's unusual more th...

Re: Living Land Preview #4 - Wonders

Will the law of Decay affect a Cyborg Limb ? Considering it's removing a perk in a pretty severe way story-wise, I wouldn't consider it. But then that's the player's choice. If someone plays the Law of Decay card, and a player says, "My cyberleg falls apart," I'd allow it and give the ful...
