Re: Breathe Fire seams really powerful

I don't really see that as a problem. You're probably better off casting it on your friends, anyway. Alternately, Utsukushi's approach seems eminently reasonable. Utsukushi's approach is also the only one that keeps Copycat from being nearly useless. 2 rounds of borrowed skill adds before you need ...

Re: Portal Question

Pretty sure it does need line of sight, partly because other spells do (and they just hardened that recently, even), but mostly from the note Deanna makes periodically that the spell descriptions are inclusive. If Portal was supposed to let you go through walls, it would say so, and it doesn't. Cor...

Re: Breathe Fire seams really powerful

Wait, what? You can totally multi-Action Miracles, can't you? Where does it say a Miracle must be the only thing you can do? I know it says you can only ever invoke one Miracle in a turn, but I don't think there's anything that says you can't invoke a Miracle while casting a Fireball and shooting y...

Re: Breathe Fire seams really powerful

I don't think it's an unreasonable, from that last (bolded) section to conclude that the page reference for Fire is explaining how "fire damage" works. So what are people to assume when other powers specify "fire damage" but without that page ref? The fire rules applying to Fire...

Re: Breathe Fire seams really powerful

Yet we don't see anyone complaining that C9 is just all around better than dynamite. Yeah I don't actually see the problem unless Fireball really isn't supposed to target the lowest armor on the target. But in that case I'd just remove that aspect of Breathe Fire and move on. But as long as it's ju...

Re: Breathe Fire seams really powerful

2 more damage than Fireball, with a better Outstanding result, but a higher axiom, shorter range, and limited accessibility.

I think it's probably okay but I'd have to see some high axiom magic and psionic powers to really say.

Re: Breathe Fire seams really powerful

25m is quite a distance and with a faith total of 18 they can easily became something of a one-trick pony, firing it off every round with an outstanding success and quickly reducing even serious threats to charcoal without singeing their fellow stormknights. It is this sort of thing that can frustr...

Re: How do people handle new, more specialized Perks coming out?

If a new book comes out and there's a new perk/race/spell/whatever that better fits your character concept I allow a free rebuild, provided you do it reasonably quickly after you get access to the book. Given the cost scaling for Torg's perks it'd feel too much like a punishment not to.

Re: Player's Call: Locking out abilities on PCs

It's supposed to be a result of an interaction attack, I don't know how taunting someone extremely well suddenly generates a regeneration suppressing knife... He pissed you off so much you got careless which allowed him to quick draw the knife and stab you with it. He's an Aysle knight. He fights m...

Re: Player's Call: Locking out abilities on PCs

Personally, I think sudden malfunction of Perks like Bone Marked, Regeneration, or Mummy can be more difficult to explain... It's pretty trivial. Your time spent in away from the Living Land and Lanala's direct influence means Bone Marked's benefit suddenly fades. The knight stabbed you with his si...
