Re: Breathe Fire seams really powerful

25m is quite a distance and with a faith total of 18 they can easily became something of a one-trick pony, firing it off every round with an outstanding success and quickly reducing even serious threats to charcoal without singeing their fellow stormknights. It is this sort of thing that can frustr...

Re: How do people handle new, more specialized Perks coming out?

If a new book comes out and there's a new perk/race/spell/whatever that better fits your character concept I allow a free rebuild, provided you do it reasonably quickly after you get access to the book. Given the cost scaling for Torg's perks it'd feel too much like a punishment not to.

Re: Player's Call: Locking out abilities on PCs

It's supposed to be a result of an interaction attack, I don't know how taunting someone extremely well suddenly generates a regeneration suppressing knife... He pissed you off so much you got careless which allowed him to quick draw the knife and stab you with it. He's an Aysle knight. He fights m...

Re: Player's Call: Locking out abilities on PCs

Personally, I think sudden malfunction of Perks like Bone Marked, Regeneration, or Mummy can be more difficult to explain... It's pretty trivial. Your time spent in away from the Living Land and Lanala's direct influence means Bone Marked's benefit suddenly fades. The knight stabbed you with his si...

Re: Player's Call: Locking out abilities on PCs

Where is that set out? I'm not finding it, and it sounds like an interesting bit to take note of! Here. Q: What other options are there for a Player’s Call other than make an important target lose their turn? A: The ‘lose an action’ is intended to be a fallback result in case nothing else comes to ...

Re: Player's Call: Locking out abilities on PCs

That would require the players to be constantly suffering from Outstanding successes on Interaction Attacks though, it's not really something the GM can just decide to do to them on a whim. Not constantly. Just 1/fight. But whether it's ok or not gets into GMing philosophy vs. rules and what i'm in...

Re: Player's Call: Locking out abilities on PCs

I think it's fine to take out the SKs primary Perk if the still have a path to victory. Say the Wizard is so intimidated that he forgets all his spells and then in his desperation he spots the rope holding the chandelier above the Ogre's head. He then uses his dagger to knock the Ogre into next wee...

Player's Call: Locking out abilities on PCs

So removing a special ability for the rest of the combat is one of the options for a Player's Call on an interaction attack. That's cool, I like that. It gives the less fighty types a way to contribute to the encounter by way of shutting down a villain's super regeneration, Gloater, or whatever else...

Re: What defense do I use?

Does she know she can withdraw from melee and shoot her M4? She just becomes Vulnerable. I should have phrased that better. She wasn't allowed to use the guns against critters currently engaged with her, to steal some 13th Age terminology. It's been a while, but I think we knew you could withdraw a...

Re: What defense do I use?

You already can use pistols and carbines (like the Slayer's Gun) in melee. Where do you get the blanket ruling for carbines? 129 says pistols only, 122 says "Pistols or other small weapons" (so I'm assuming SMGs), and the Slayer's Gun explicitly says it can be "used in melee like a p...
