Re: Aysle Preview #3 - Perks

And I do agree that "Law of Delving" seems a bit off for arcane research. I realize that "delve" has a number of different meanings, one of which is to gather information on a topic . . but in the tabletop RPG community, its gerund "delving" is used almost exclusively ...

Re: Aysle Preview #3 - Perks

Definitely agree that keeping Outsider separate makes sense, especially considering that every single perk for it we've seen so far could fit a Light or Darkness character concept (PC or NPC). And I do agree that "Law of Delving" seems a bit off for arcane research. I realize that "de...

Re: When do you allow subplots to be played in combat?

And the Romance card poses its own challenges. I've been tempted to apply some additional rules, but I am chary about heaping on yet more house rules. My main concern is that sometimes a Romance subplot is just not appropriate. I ran a scene involving a female NPC whose husband is held prisoner. It ...

Re: Website Down?

Found this. http://wrath-and-glory.com/ Seems like a definite WIP. Wish they'd at least left the errata up in the downloads section, though, until the new site was launched fully. IF this site was intended to be the games new home I think it's dead since why wouldn't you update the links at the bot...

Re: Creative Interpretation of Text as Given – Reality-Rated Individuals in Untouched Cosms

A lot of interesting stuff in this thread. First, about house rules: I take a different approach than Sword of Spirit. I like house rules, and feel that's part of the fun of running an RPG. You get to customise the game, the storytelling engine, to fit the story you want to tell. I can see where thi...

Re: The Final Invasion of Fel Duran

Session Nineteen Write Up: Session Nineteen went better than I had expected it to honestly. Not given any of the content of the session itself, that was on par with expectations of previous game nights, but in relation to getting my preparations for the session completed at all. Lately I had not had...

Re: Fires of Ra Discussion and Questions

The other issue is that Torg adventures are structured around an Act/Scene framework which has a baked-in mechanical element, as part of its movie-inspired roots. D&D doesn't use that kind of structure, so it's whatever... same with most other RPGs, really. When writing for those games, it's ful...

Re: My custom Torg card and token storage solution

Dang it, Imgur is taking forever (relatively speaking) to approve this for some reason, despite the images being up. Heck with it, I'll image flood: My Torg Eternity card and token storage solution https://i.imgur.com/dnEqMkj.jpg Stole a jewelry box from my wife. The deco is off (DC supers) but the ...

Re: Storm Chronicles

Session 7: Nightmare and Glory With the demon lord of entropy defeated and dawn breaking over the Urals, the Storm Knights discussed what to do next. Tom, used to scavenging and foraging in the Living Land and its wonders, decided he wanted to explore the Blasted Lands. June and Maryam found that H...

Re: Aysle Preview #2 - Magic

I love cantrips but, I think that if cantrips are supposed to be simple spells that are usable by anyone, then shouldn't there difficulty by Very Easy (6). With a basic attribute of 7 then everyone should be able to perform them at least 55% of the time unskilled (if that's possible in Aysle). If y...
