Re: Custom Spirit Perk

That's all pretty interesting. My take is walking through walls is like flying. It's probably useful now and then but I'm not super concerned. I.e. I wouldn't setup doors that can't be bypassed that this perk would worry me about the same way I wouldn't setup a uncrossable chasm that flying would wo...

Re: Opinions on lightning strike miracle?

For future spell/miracle design, I'd echo the posters who suggested avoiding multi-turn casting times, except for plot-heavy spells/miracles like Earthquake. As a player, I'd prefer not to regularly lose a turn of activity doing something that I'm doing all the time (it's more okay for some kind of...

Re: Opinions on lightning strike miracle?

For future drawbacks how about a cumulative penalty each time you cast it in a scene? So no penalty the first time, -2 the second, -4, - 6 and so on. The main problem is that it requires keeping track of how often you have cast a miracle/spell, but you do that for the Slayers rounds. In general thou...

Re: Opinions on lightning strike miracle?

Put me in the column of someone who wouldn't choose it. My main character is a mage/cleric who actually qualifies for both the lightning bolt spell and the lightning miracle right now. If I ever do choose to get one or the other of them, it'd be the spell over the miracle for sure. To me, 16 dmg eve...

Re: Nile Empire Archetypes (ask questions here)

It should be DN 10 to escape a bolo because the DN of most anything by default is 10. That was my first thought, when this question came up at my table. "Keep it simple" has a lot to be said for it. But in this case I think DN 10 would make ranged Grapples significantly OP, & I have a...

Re: Why be a non "Magic"-person from cosm X?

I think it is critical that, as mentioned, LL & NE are up due to their sourcebooks. That implies that the others will also rise as their sourcebooks come out. This would be especially true with the one listed 'Poor' in your rankings. Pan Pancifica will probably boost the abilities of the Electri...

Your favorite Aventurian God?

Out of curiosity and to keep the forums rolling, I want to ask y’all this question: Which of the Aventurian gods are you most interested in? One of the main Twelvegods; perhaps Praios, Rondra, Boron or Phex? Or one of the pantheon's demigods; like Aves, the patron god of many travelers? Or perhaps t...

Re: Aysle Timeline

One question if I may, that might affect what I'm plotting right now. London is a hardpoint, but Heathrow Airport is rather a long way from the heart of the city. Is the hardpoint large enough to encompass the airport? Or are the terminals now home to Tumnus and Mr. Beaver? To be determined. Gut fe...

Re: The Final Invasion of Fel Duran

Session Fifteen Write Up: Session fifteen was, once again, a session that flowed very smoothly through both preparation work and through getting the group together at all. Not only did I get my preparation work early, but thankfully the player who recently got a new job did not have any time conflic...
