In melee with a loaded crossbow.

Shoting with a crossbow is a free action. Let's say i decide to shot the monster in melee with me, i guess i suffer a -2 penality? And if i have quickdraw, i supose i can attack with my weapon as my main action. Am i correct? And with someone in melee with me, i try to shot someone outside of the me...

Re: Saving the world in the age of surveillance

The main thing to consider is that every character is bound by the needs of the story. If the bad guys need to know where the good guys are, there is a way to do it, and vice versa. But for every surveillance technique, there is an equal and opposite plot device that keeps it from spoiling future a...

Re: Saving the world in the age of surveillance

If today's entertainment is to be believed, the government has the technology to tap into any traffic cam and locate a specific person or license plate. Yet, when my co-worker's niece was abducted, it was a civilian responding to an Amber Alert who saved the day. I'm not completely savvy on surveil...

Re: Novels

I have read the main three. I enjoyed them the first time I read them, but rereading them nowadays I realize that my enjoyment was more about the setting than quality of the fiction. They aren't very well written, I just love the setting so much though. Haven't really looked at the other books yet, ...

What if the invasion took place on another Earth than our Earth? For me, my absolute fantasy is that the invasion arrives in a world like Necessary Evil (in which I have added pieces of the call of Cthulhu and dimensional travel) or in the Call of Cthulhu's world... Would some of you have, by way of...

Re: Considerations of the +dE system and House Rules to avoid it (if desired)

I was asking because it's an issue with a few Savage Worlds monsters... It seems logical that either you are hard to hit or hard to kill. And you made your point. Dragons won't be easy. But I was thinking about other monsters, not so big... I don't think -4 bonus to hit would only need to be balance...

Re: Preview #15 - A Closer Look At Perks

I'm happy to see this. Perks were the main thing I always wanted in the original system.

Re: Pool about the pool

My main problem with starting people more advanced is that the adventures need to be balanced to the new levels. Early on this won't be an issue, but the more stuff you give the players, the more chances they have to become unbalanced one direction or another. I am not saying you shouldn't do it, bu...

Re: What is the "Dualistic Principle"?

Okay, this needs a little longer explanation. In the beginnings of the dark eye there was the idea that Boron, the god of death and sleep, would be the "evil god" as a contrast to Praios and the other ten main gods. However, this quickly changed to them being the twelve as they're now, wit...
