Re: Spell and Miracle perks underwhelming?

My real disappointment in it is that this was, I believe, one of the first places they could have differentiated the three different lines... and they didn't. We have Miracles, that use one Skill; Psionics that use three, all based on different Attributes; and Spells that use four Skills based on tw...

Re: Skills cost

I had the idea, too, for 2 xps when the skills go from 1 to 3. And then the rules. But don't forget the feeling of Old Torg. The main reason i do like Torg so much is that you don't have to explain how the characters become skilled : it's something about possibilities, you can tap in this weid energ...

Re: Using Torg Eternity to improve original Torg

The original Rocket Ranger suit came with STR 14, TOU 19, Flight 11, Mega-Sight 12, and +7 armour if you targeted the wearer instead of the suit. Marshall Rick Rogers has upgraded his by building a minor telekinesis gadget in the helmet that allows him to mentally control a shoulder-mounted weapon (...

Re: Living Land and the Spirit Axiom

I mean we have Hellfire and we have Lightning. Both are ranged attacks that are evocative of one of the major cosm faiths. So Saccelum and Maatism (amaatism?? can't remember) are present and accounted for and for them the faith is hardly the main schtick of the cosm. Come on guys. Give us at least 1...

Re: Differentiating wizards of different realities

Scry was just an example drawn out of the hat without much thinking about it. It was meant to describe my intentions better, not as a case-study. So, please, don't disseminate it too closely.Of course I can see the merit of restrictions and bonuses to schools of SFX. Shadowrun did this pretty good w...

Re: Skills cost

Attributes need to be fairly diversified unless you've got something clever. But Skills are easy enough to specialize heavily. 4 @ +3; 4 @ +1 would likely cover all your starting character needs and be close to mechanically optimal. Ultimately a +1 in a skill doesn't make much mechanical difference...

Re: Campaign Timing

I could bring it up to the players, but I don't know how well it would go over. As mostly-a-player myself, I would love to play Torg that way. It's hard to pick just one thing to want to play in pretty much any game, and Torg takes that problem and cranks it up to 11. I have a hard time imagining s...

Re: Resetting vs. refreshing Possibilities at the start of an act.

It might be the multi-actioning interaction attacks and actual attacks for cards fairly regularly, spending possibilities to succeed if we won't, which burns us through the deck pretty good, leading us to more cards we can use in place of personal possibilities, or cards that give us more. And as I...

Re: When do World Laws apply

...and now I come to think of it, why is peanut butter a contradiction in the Living Land? What advanced technological requirement is needed to make it? Isn't it just mushed up peanuts and oil? :D and creepy coincidence, the Skippy web site has the tag line - Explore the Possibilities! The main con...
