Alternative Setting races - Dark Aventuria

I´m very tempted to use Aventuria (and TDE) as the first setting to introduced my own version of the classical races, especially Elves and Dwarves. It may come as a shock to many of you so accustomed to the tradicional view of such races, but I must say that the lack of originality and the bland fee...

Re: Professions and Skills - AP Cost

That is definitely up for debate. Personally I´m starting to get that nasty feeling that I may have bet on the "wrong horse" here. Well, I hope you'll still enjoy it. TDE5 is still closer to the second half of The Dark Eye's life hitherto (TDE4) than to its first (TDE1-3), after all, and ...

Re: PDF Error Collection Thread

Open (I have to recalculate the AP because they differ between German and English and I don't know what are the right values - maybe you can help?): Page 132: Guard - Variants all differ Page 134: Hunter - Variants all differ Page 136: Mercenary - Variants all differ Page 140: Sailor - Variant Pira...

Re: Spells: The Thread

From my quick read, the main difference is the tradition restrictions.

But it looks to me like Fulminictus is better in every way. Casting time, display, bypasses protection, auto-hits.

Re: Questions on more character options!

Since I'm from Germany, I can just tell you what the german products will be like. 1. There will be two more books, which attend to magic. The first one will be attending to the classic magic users like guildmages and the second one focus on the other magic user (witches, druids, etc.). Of course wi...

Questions on more character options!

Got my pdf in the first batch and loving it thus far. A couple of randomg questions: -More spells: Assuming they will be in an official supplement for magic, when will it be released in English? When was it released in German, anyone know? Does this book have new abilities for existing traditions li...

Re: Understanding the "Brief Example of Combat" p. 226

This is one of the issues I´m finding to be a negative aspect of the book. Both rules and examples miss key aspects of the mechanics they are describing, which leads or may lead to confusion as to how a certain result was reached. There´s leaps between what is said, the information effectively given...

Re: German looking for players to play over internet

If we get the rules this week we could schedule a session for Saturday or Sunday. Saturday would only be an option if Prometheus doesn't have his regular RPG session then. Else everybody has time then at least in general. Everybody said Sunday is OK, if I'm not mistaken. I'd say we start at 12:00 UT...

Re: German gamer from Cologne

It would still be an interesting read, but maybe I should try to sell Ulisses on the concept of a modern history book. I wouldn't bet on it in the near term. I was looking for an Aventurian history as well for the same reasons as you - catching up on the timeline. The first edition of the Historia ...

Re: Greetings and salutations

I think the changes from Drakensang to River of Time largely resemble those from Baldur's Gate to Shadows of Amn (keeping the respective starting framework in mind): A smaller and less diverse array of potential party members, but with deeper characterization/interaction. A few more character creati...
