Howdy from California

Postby BrianEye » Sun Nov 27, 2016 7:47 pm

Howdy All,

Experienced gamer, but new to the Board and TDE. I picked up TDE Core Rules, Witch's Dance, and Revelations from Heaven earlier this morning while browsing at the local game store. Looking forward to reading them and learning more.

Welcome aboard Brian!
I'm glad to see that people are buying TDE books :)

If you like RPG novels (gamebook or choose your own adventure), I would also recommend solo adventure The Vampire of Havena, which would be released in December, I think. It is excellent.

Me too! :D I've offered to run a session at the local game store in town (Black Diamond Games, in Concord) - they apparently have ~ 5 copies arriving today.

I'm also looking at the possibility of running a game via Roll20 - one of my close friends turns out to have secretly been a huge TDE fan (via older versions and German), but he's in Texas ... and wants to play.

I'm really enjoying the feel of the rules and setting.

Welcome to the group,
I was busy over the last few days. Anyway ... it is great to see the Dark Eye stuff in the wild and now it is also here in the UK.

I am just about to foray into playing Pen and Paper games over the internet and so I am intrigued to see what your experiences are. I have just installed Teamspeak and I am now listening to some Germans playing the Dark Eye. It will be interesting to take part in such a game.

I would love to hear how others are finding it.

Lambert if you need help or advice with online gaming, just let me know.
I've been playing online for cca 9 years and right now I'm running Revelations from Heaven online.
I'm using TTopRPG virtualtabletop - free and especially useful for pf/dnd but you can play also TDE. I created template for Revelations and if you'd like to have a look I can send it to you.
Skype for VoIP, although last session we changed to Discord because skype is getting more and more crappy. Now and then one of players can't connect to call because with every update they introduce more and more bugs.
Hamachi for creating VPN
And some cloud service for sharing files.

When you'll read this you might think this is complicated, but it's not really. You setup all this in maybe 15 min.
I'd have to be a warrior, a slave I couldn't be.
