Proof of Rastullah's Divinity?

Postby antema » Fri Apr 13, 2018 10:19 am

In the Core Rules and Almanac, only Rastullah's original, about 300 years ago happened, revelation to the Novadi is mentioned. He has no Blessed Ones either. What has he done in the last 300 years to prove his divinity to the Novadi, if he has done anything at all? And how exactly has he cemented his worship when the Twelvegods are clearly stronger and provide constant proof of their divinity in the shape of miracles and Blessed Ones?

300 years is nothing in the eyes of a god.

And he hasn't. He just has really good PR...

That may be, but for humans whose "life expectancy on Dere is 80 years, but some live to 90 or even more than 100 years old", that is at least three lifetimes.

There was an official con-adventure, shortly before the 5th Edition, whitch plot focused on the fact that there finally was a blessed One of rastullah. There will probably more infos for the blessed ones in aventurian gods 2.

What kind of miracles?

Also. Has Rastullah provided the Novadi with some hidden or forbidden knowledge? Ancient knowledge? History of the Novadi people? Any beneficial knowledge?

He did give them the 99 commandments, so he is clearly capable of providing information, if nothing else.

Rastullah's wonders usually manifest in forms of sandstorms, burning bushes and other elemental powers, most of the times very subtle, but clear to see for the believers, while doubted by the nonbelievers. He doesnt have blessed ones yet (well one in recent times, two if you include one on Uthuria, who claims to be ) but every true believer could ask for his help in hours of need, sometimes he did answer, sometimes even with true power, He did repell cultists and a full grown dragon from a holy oasis with a cloud formed like a tent followed by a hailstorm of devastating strength, and shortly after he spoke to a few chosen ones about his return (two different adventure modules)

Gods usually dont spread knowledge, they command and protect. Only scholarly gods like hesinde, nandus or simia provide direct inspiration. The novadi know their own history, why should a god tell them their past? He told them what to avoid to be in his favour (mainly everything lizard-y, including most magic, except the "good" magic of the sun, somash, which he himself provides for their mages and derwishes). thats enough for him.

His chosen "champion" Rashtul al'Sheik united the tribes some 3000 years ago and freed them from lizardmen-slavery, tamed the first camel, and founded a unified realm that would grow to be the (later one of, later none anymore )dominant power of the Dark Ages.

(you can, indeed already play a zealot of rastullah , with unique fate-point abilities, either visions (buff yourself) or sermons (buff others), thats a good way to show his subtle but powerful nature)

[metastuffs: he is most certainly the Titan Rashtul , Father of Trolls, and a immortal, elemental entity of equal power to the so called gods. It would fit the metaplot, which shows other titans and natural powers growing in strength, that he will return soon]
