Yes and no. The topic of refugees and immigrants is a long standing thing since 15 years or so (after the invasion of Borbarad).
It's very unusual for TDE adventures to copy recent real world topics. Mostly, because the world of aventuria has such a deep background that it works in it's own ways.
And the adventures (especially the thorwalian drum) is the preperation for the big new campaign about the theater knights.
