First In-Person Session / Demo

Postby BrianEye » Sun Dec 18, 2016 1:26 am

Howdy All,

My first in-person (vs online) game of The Dark Eye wrapped up a little earlier this evening. 8-) Botton line: it was fun to run, and all five (5) of my Players said they enjoyed the system and setting, along with the session. Everyone was likewise interested in some more, and a few specifically requested done follow-up, potentially regular play.

I had gone into the 6 pm game with two confirmed players, and a third was waiting to join us. After we got just a bit into the rules explanation, a mom-and-daughter team came up and asked if they could still play ("Yes!!").

So, it was five Players - four adults, one youth (middle school age), of which two men and three women. The 12 yr old played the Mage, by the way ...

I ran them through the Quick Start Adventure, using the pregens. We went about 3 hours all said and done.

Lotta fun!

It's so great to see the books in the Wild.
I will need to go through my local friendly shops to see whether I can find any.

Very nice BrianEye. Good to hear that you all enjoyed TDE game. Now I'm little jealous. I Still didn't have live session, and unfortunately there is no prospect for it in near future :(

P.S. there is one thing on table. Beer! :)

Your eyes are better than mine, in fact I might mention the lack of beer, but then, I can completely understand that a public gaming shop doesn't sell beer with the licensing laws and all that.

Arghhh. I wanted to mention the lack of beer. My mind is quicker than my fingers :)
So to clarify:
P.S. there is one thing lacking on table. Beer! :)

I was lucky enough to get a chance to play Geron Bladebreaker for Brian's quickstart demo. Had a terrific time. Brian did a great job with all neophyte players. Great mix of story telling and game managing. Really high lighted the system's best qualities. I bought the hardcover minutes after we finished.

Thanks for the great game Brian.

Pretty much that. Beer at the game store isn't really an option.

When I host at my house, I like a good stout or porter, or a single-malt scotch. :)

You're very welcome - you definitely rocked as a player.

I look forward to another session 8-)
