TDE5 NPCs book

Postby Morgoth Feuerklinge » Fri Jan 26, 2018 3:14 am

I bought the TD5 NPC Book and I must say I'm very disappointed. I compare it to the npc books from TDE4, which were full of information and values. For example, it shows the usual clothing or equipment or the special talents of the npc, depending on their experience. But here you can only find a nice picture with a few lines of background information. Too little for my purposes and therefore not nearly as useful as the version from the previous edition.
Please excuse my bad English, I'm a beginner.

TDE since: 1998
Current TDE rule set: 4.1
Played adventures: 55

You do know that it is not a book,
but a deck of cards, so the the GM can quickly pick a random NPC out of the bag, as it were, show the players a picture and have a few lines about them in order to get themselves going. It is an add on from the latest kickstarter campaign and cannot be compared to a book about NPCs.

I admit I skipped it. The euphoria that it could be a book like in TDE4 made me blind.

I am sure there will be one or several similar books in the future, as they were very well received.
But they're basically "leisure material" and since not all rule- or codebooks have been brought out, only small things like such card packs will be made, I think.
Basically... first, get the base game going, then do the courtesies around it.
