The Chinese equivalent should be Youxia. Wuxia usually refers to the literature depicting Youxia (or the less-used Xiake).

Hwarang makes sense for Korea.

File under "something I would really love to see in the PP book": A variable High Lord.

Lemme 'splain. It's barely a secret that Kanawa Corp is behind the invasion and that either Ryuchi or Reiko is the High Lord. Out of game, the players know (in fact, they know that it's Reiko specifically), and in game, the Delphi Council pretty much knows. Basically, it's just the general populace that still needs convincing. So there's no real intrigue there, no way for the GM to add doubt unless they're willing to heavily rewrite canon secretly.

So what would be amazing would be if PP was the one cosm where there were options for who's the High Lord. Give me a Reiko HL, a Ryuchi HL, and then at least one dark horse option (maybe a yakuza HL) -- along with guidelines for how each one could also be just a red herring. That way, when the players track down proof that Reiko is behind the entire cosm invasion and finally bring her down, they learn that no, she's actually been a pawn of the yakuza. They track down the yakuza head, and after his defeat it turns out that actually Ryuchi was leading things from inside Kanawa all along but playing the fool.

In most cosms, defeating the HL is a matter of getting big and strong enough to beat 'em in a fight. It would be cool if PP was the cosm where you had to beat them by first unraveling the truth.

Well, you *kinda*have that with Tharkold, since you have three struggling for the role. That two are humans and only one's a demon is odd but, hey.

But that's an open power struggle. Everyone knows about it, who the players are, etc.; the question is how far each is willing to go and who will win. And that whole setup works great with Tharkold's "Cold War" vibe -- three "frenemies" sitting at the same table, smiling, knives behind their backs. Man I love that cosm.

I'm talking about a situation where the characters, and even the players, don't have a straight answer to "who's actually behind the Pan-Pacifica invasion?" If PP is supposed to be the "stealth invasion," it would be nice if it supported that on a meta level -- if it helped the GM play three-card monte with something fundamentally important. Because right now there's no conspiracy, no intrigue about who the Big Bad Gal is. It's Reiko Kanawa, period.

Except when you go after him, you find out the Reiko you took out was a "Face Off" type clone (Someone with the basic body type altered with plastic surgery to perfectly match the appearance and with hypnotic conditioning to match the mentality of the Reiko she was playing), possibly one of many, and that the Yakuza have this technology too....

So, no GM is reading this, right?

I guess we'll see when the PP book comes out. (Right now: Yes.)

A High Lord shell game would be very much in line with Pan Pacifica.
