Power Armour

Postby GeniusCodeMonkey » Tue Apr 09, 2019 9:26 am

PP, Tharkold and Cyberpapacy can all support power armour, but what would the stats be for progression of the said armour? What options should they have?

Tech: 24
Armour: +3
Str: +1
Max dex: 8
Encumberance boost: x1.5
Notes:
Automeds (first aid is favoured)
Infrared: +4 against lighting penalties
HUD. ??? What bonus ???
Auto drug injectors?

Tech: 25
Armour: +4
Str: +2
Max dex: 8
Enc.: x2.0
Notes:
As above.
Energy claws Str+3/AP2
Energy weapons?

Tech: 26
Armour: +4
Str: +2
Dex: +1
Max Dex: 10
Enc. ×2.0
Notes:
As above. Cyber integration, removing bulk for HUD, IR etc. ???

Any ideas?

In Tharkold it wouldnt exist for a couple of reasons. First Tharkoldu would see wearing it as a sign of weakness. They would also never view humans as worth the cost. If they die they just replace them. And the Race rebels wouldnt have the resources.

I don't agree. I think they would have power armour, but would be it would be all custom built and not mass produced; hard to build, hard to fix. It would be a thing of legend, something the Tharkold would hunt down. It would only be used on missions were the mission wouldn't succeed without it; and would be shipped out of area ASAP. With the influx of tech items from CE to Tharkold, more would be built potentially being a factor in the upheavals happening in the Tharkold home cosm.

But what if it was powered on constant agony? What if the moment it went on, you were filled with pain and it never stopped until removed? Then only the strongest could wear it.

Ohhhhhh, I think that is a debatable topic. ;)

I do agree that the Tharkoldu wouldn't have any incentive to use it. But the Race sure would.

I could pretty much guarantee pain would be involved.

A power suit that is powered by the wearer's constant agony is a cool idea. Very Tharkold.

I've been looking for a good adventure hook for Tharkold...

Cyberpapal Destroyer Armors are already Power Armours(Tech 26 armors are the Top-Tier advanced armors even in Cyberpapacy, so the additional power armors can be better in some aspect, but not significantly as a whole), and didn't oTorg Tharkold have Chod/10 Power Armors, used by the Race and Tharkoldu alike?
(TorgE Tharkoldu seems far nastier than oTorg ones, though...)

And, if you want Tharkold to be really cruel place, how about a power armor made from salvaged Tharkoldu ENDOskeleton?
Occultech cyberskeleton and artificial muscles attached to it forms the main structure, the body cavity modified to house a wearer, a nervejack link to control the brainless body, and Technodemon hide enhanced with cyber plating for actual armor!
(It can be proved that Occultech malevolent side-effects from such a large-scale recycling of a Demon body to be beyond control, though)

...And Tharkoldu may weave living thralls and/or captives into their protective gears for extra muscles(yes, monkeys are weak, but in number they can be better than nothing...why do you use slaves if not?) and/or showing off domination, giving the word "meatshield" a whole new meaning.

That is way cooler than my idea. It also fits better in the dark techno-horror realm.
