Re: Extra effort in combined actions

Good catch. I'll adjust my GMing then.

Re: Nile Empire Cosm Card - Suddenly!

I've had a gang war erupt around the Storm Knights.
I've had a prison bus crash in the vicinity, and the criminals poured out to wreak havoc.
In the middle of the desert, I've had mummies rise from an unseen tomb.

Re: Extra effort in combined actions

My previous understanding is that Combined Actions is when NPCs are acting together or helping PCs: they don't roll they just add a static bonus depending on their numbers. When PCs want to help other PCs (or NPCs for that matter), they have to roll for Extra Effort to determine for how many additi...

Re: Requisitioning multiple items

For things that make sense in crates, I use the value chart. If it costs $50 (value 9), then requesting 10 of them is $500, which is value 14. Fun fact if you haven't noticed: The Torg logarithmic chart increases by 2 roughly when you double it. So, value 9 doubled is 11. But it veers quite a bit th...

Re: Does this make sense as a use of the Dramatic Skill Resolution

But no worries on that. Not everything needs to be a DSR. I'd much rather have skill checks than shoehorn something into a DSR. I remember when D&D 4e came out, and it seemed like every module in Living Forgotten Realms tried to shoehorn a skill challenge into something. There probably ought to ...

Re: Infiniverse Update, Please?

I mean, they ask questions from the various home games like, "Was Kitsune convinced to ally with the Delphi Council," "Did Morimoto survive," and "Did Hideaki Okada survive." Presumably if the answer to these questions are "yes," then these may show up in futu...

Re: Extra effort in combined actions

I had this discussion on my PbP game. I figure the DN is either 10 or the original number. In the end, I dismissed it being the original number because if the helper could make it, then why even help? Just do it. For example, if the DN is 16 to study the hieroglyphics, and Bob is helping Carol, then...

Re: Different Contradictions in one action

Must have missed something: Focused Strike and Ki Strike are only tested as contradictions as Surges because they're activated after you roll damage. How exactly does this happen? The surge roll is made at the start of the turn but the activation is after the action. Is it simply the case of having...

Re: Nile Empire En Media Res

Funnily enough, I started my PbP campaign in media res within the Nile Empire. Here is the introduction I presented to them: The acrid odor of petrol assaults your nostrils, punctuated percussively by the gritty landscape of the desert. The ringing in your ears subsides gradually as you struggle to ...

Well, yours might look nicer than my obvious screen grabs, so maybe I should be asking you to share yours. *grin*
