Re: Orrorsh should drop a Maelstrom Bridge into New Mexico - Old West / Horror

Yeah, some differences though that make it very interesting to me: Yeah it's part of the USA, but it doesn't have the strongest cultural integration with the rest of the country. It's a unique culture with a history of superstition and religion. Voodoo much? And it's close to Houston, the new capita...

Re: Orrorsh should drop a Maelstrom Bridge into New Mexico - Old West / Horror

In my series of Living Land adventures I'm running for my group, I wanted to run the one going up the Mississippi. I decided to move
Prayers for a Dying Tree in Miami
to New Orleans. Turned out to work pretty well. Since the group was already expecting Orrorsh in New Orleans anyh...

Re: What defense do I use?

If your last action was to fire the M82 then I would say you are using it as a firearm not a club. To be able to use it to parry then my ruling as a GM would be that you would have to either be wielding it as a club previously or declare that you were preparing to parry with it, at which point I wo...

Re: When do you allow subplots to be played in combat?

Nemesis is often an in-battle thing, and Martyr, of course. I hadn't even considered some of the outright abuses of Romance Gargoyle listed, but... I would note it's not like Star-Crossed Romance in the Nile set. It's fair enough to say that playing the subplot is supposed to, as it says, encourage...

Re: When do you allow subplots to be played in combat?

I prefer the RAW as a GM, mostly. But I have my own take on these. One of the oTorg guidelines, I don't remember if it was a hard rule, was that players would play the Romance or whatever and the GM would decide when and how it took effect. It could be later in the scene. The wording on the Romance ...

Re: Aysle Preview #4 - Uthorion

It's also interesting that Uthorian has two Perks normally only available to Core Earth Stormers: Negation and Storm Caller. Perhaps we'll eventually learn that Uthorian is from closer to home than we thought. Maybe the Gaunt Man once visited our Earth and took a "friend" away with him. P...

Re: Aysle Preview #4 - Uthorion

Looks good. A couple of questions. -He has spellcaster but no spells are listed. I am assuming the GM will just pick any they want, or does he have access to all spells? -Semantics thing. I noticed it says "player characters" in one ability. I thought I had read somewhere about "hero...

Re: What real world date should Orrorsh be set at?

Ignore real world history, and just decide what you want available, then account for why it's like that by making up a rationale based on the cosm's fictional history. Gaea doesn't have the same restrictions, it might seem like 19th century Core Earth, but the evolution of its technology almost cert...

Re: Orrorsh should drop a Maelstrom Bridge into New Mexico - Old West / Horror

The ol' hangin' tree down past the sheriff's office is obviously a Nightmare Tree... That's a cool idea. Plus could be subtler than dropping a bridge. Maybe have a stranger with no name show up from Jonestown on Gaea who has been looking for the Gaunt Man's secret canyon fortress. Yeah, a haunted c...

Re: Orrorsh should drop a Maelstrom Bridge into New Mexico - Old West / Horror

I dig it. Would love to see this for the Orrorsh book. Maybe the Gaunt Man just take a relatively small area because he wants something from that location, a particular eternity shard or maybe the location itself is important enough strategically to drop a bridge there. Maybe he wants to unnerve Bar...
