Re: NPC Names

Just copy names from NFL players. Fair Hooker HaHa Clinton-Dix Dick Butkus Guy Whimper Richie Incognito John David Booty Those all look like stupid names a gamer might make up while drunk but are actual names of people. It’s no surprise Dick Butkus grew up into a tough guy. Call it the “Boy Named S...

Re: Nile Backer Archetypes

Nor only do I like it, but it gives me ideas for other concepts in other Cosms! I love the idea of the Core Earther with a foot in both realities. That’s how I try to encourage people to make Core Earth heros, don’t fear using powers and tools beyond your axioms. Especially when you consider Realm ...

The Russians could even be the ambush at the Luxor. (Cue red herring jokes.)

Re: Social Axiom Underrated

I've been doing some thinking about the Social Axiom myself in terms of what an in-character sociologist would write about it. The theory I came up with coalesced around a movie quote: A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it. -Agent K, Men in Black, 1997 The sho...

Re: Possibilities for Defeat Rolls

For the sake of clarification, a disconnected character suffers all of the effects of disconnection (No Possibilities, no cards) apply on the defeat roll, correct? KO’ed characters may not use Possibilities, play Destiny cards, or even trade Destiny cards. However, my understanding is that Cosm car...

Possibilities for Defeat Rolls

The roll for defeat doesn't say it is any different from other rolls. So having a Possibility and a couple of equivalent cards would be really useful should the unfortunate happen. For the sake of clarification, a disconnected character suffers all of the effects of disconnection (No Possibilities, ...

Re: Rules Clarification on Dilemmas

You should try Earthdawn, if you haven't, but yes - that and oTorg are my all-time favorite games for exactly that reason. With both being originally designed by Greg Gorden, it's not totally strange that there's some overlap between TORG and Earthdawn fans. Very much so. Turn it around, I ran an E...

Re: Beta rules and updates - SPOILERS

I don't know what the hardpoints in Salvador and Sao Paulo would be, but I would have thought that Christ the Redeemer statue above Rio would be one.
Now that would be a tricky problem for a High Lord that still concerns himself with PR.

Re: Playlist for Cosms

Soundtracks and scores are a quick start to playlists. The one trick is to avoid music that is too recognizable as belonging to its movie (John Williams' works in Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, and Jurassic Park are all based on repeating themes that catch too much attention). With that in ...
