Wasn't there a discussion during the preview about this exact issue? I seem to recall the wording saying that if you had the "free" miracle as part of a different perk you got a replacement miracle.

And for further ped-antics, if you drop each of the first two opponents, then you don't have to disengage, and thus never become Vulnerable.
