Re: Creative Interpretation of Text as Given – Reality-Rated Individuals in Untouched Cosms

I prefer the unconscious reality manipulation angle (though after the invasion, people would understand why stuff works for them--"I'm the action hero because reality itself bends around me? Cool!"). The exceptions would be Perks like Storm Caller that seem to clearly be consciously direct...

Re: When do you allow subplots to be played in combat?

I consider some of those cards to just be downright awkward for combat usage, and making it easier to play them wouldn't change that. I just assumed you'd either hold onto it for a better situation or discard it for a possibility. None of my players have attempted to play those sorts of story cards ...

Re: Creative Interpretation of Text as Given – Reality-Rated Individuals in Untouched Cosms

While Eternity Shards are no question, more powerful in the hands of someone reality-rated either just because they can be tapped for Possibilities or because part of their powers requires something only reality-rated individuals can do (like Soak Damage), all of the Eternity Shards so far publishe...

Creative Interpretation of Text as Given – Reality-Rated Individuals in Untouched Cosms

I loathe house rules. For me, they represent inauthenticity of the experience of a game. However, I make at least a few house-rules for every RPG I run that I didn’t create myself, despite the fact that a little bit of authenticity dies inside of me for each one. This is because of two reasons. Firs...

Re: A few questions from a new guy

I love all the gaming aids that came in the Cargo box. With all of the tokens for shock, wounds, stymied, vulnerable, and conditions, we basically don't have to write anything down during play (unless a character grabs some equipment that wasn't already recorded). THAT is pretty awesome. Question: W...

Re: Aysle Preview #2 - Magic

I especially like the way the cantrips rules are looking. Pretty cool! One thing I'd be interested in seeing would be an explanation for some of the entries on the Magic Axiom chart. For instance, there are several entries that mention "rituals" as distinct from spells, with indication tha...

Re: multiple attack actions with multi target

If I understand the FAQ correctly, you can only do damage to the same opponent once, so this is all about attacking many opponents (unless you just want to do non-stacking damage for fun).

Re: Informal preview of the Secrets of the Nile Empire and Religions of Core Earth PDFs

With the Aysle stuff starting up, I just wanted to check on what the expected release frame is for these pdfs. Are they in process of being finished up and coming out any time, are they something that's going to come out with the Aysle Kickstarter, or did my copy just fail to make it to Drivethrurpg?

Re: Why be a non "Magic"-person from cosm X?

The major premise that I’m operating under is that there are certain non-fantastical, universal (human) character archetypes that make sense in every cosm, I agree with Savioronedge. The explanation is perfectly clear, but I find the premise, which seems to me to be, "you can have magic powers...

Re: Why be a non "Magic"-person from cosm X?

I think some of what I was going for was missed (or miscommunicated) so let me redo. Perhaps a clearer way to phrase what I’m getting at is “non-fantastical” rather than “non-magical”. Now I’ll go through and try spell out in detail how I would try to fulfill the requirements in each cosm, and what ...
