TE crowdfunding

Hello, First, I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask about this. I recently received an email from Ulisses Spiele, seemingly about a call for crowdfunding related to Torg Eternity. Unfortunately, it's in German, I can't speak it and there doesn't seem to be any translation available. It's thi...

Traditional Japanese weapons and armors

Hello, I'm trying to figure out numbers for some traditional Japanese equipment, using both the Torg Eternity book and the old sourcebooks from the 90's. What do you think of: ⋅  Katana (not electric) : damage +3, no armor piercing ⋅ Kodachi : small katana, so damage +2 ⋅&nb...

Re: 5 players in an alternate setting

Unless you have a story reason for introducing Possibilities or cards, let them get that feel right away. It sucks to not have Possibilities, as I got to see when running the Day 1 adventures for characters who start off as ords. I'm coming back to you about that. ;) Within the rules, I found four ...

Re: 8 Million Gods

I indeed chose 1868 to be the starting point of the campaign specifically because it's the restoration. My players will play non-Japanese characters coming to Japan (probably Yokohama) with very little prior knowledge of the country. With the burst of technological progress that followed, it's a per...

Re: 8 Million Gods

I'm setting up a game using TE rules in 19th century Japan, so this book came just at the right time for me Thanks for your work. :)

Re: Long term character growth

I'm the sort of GM that tends to tailor-make the game for the characters. That does mean that I'll try to create opportunities for players to shine with their character's abilities. But for me it also means playing (preying?) on their weaknesses, since they're also part of their characters. In my la...

Re: Long term character growth

Thanks for the advice. :)

I'm in the process of writing several characters (including backgrounds) as examples, both to test the game and show my players what sort of characters they can create in my setting. I'll keep an eye on noncombattants.

Re: 5 players in an alternate setting

Thanks for your answers. I admit that, since I decided to play in a single-world setting before delving into TE's rule book, I discarded the rules about cosm cards a little too quickly. Now that I have studied them, I realize how powerful they are. I'm in the process of following Kuildeous's suggest...

Re: Long term character growth

Thanks for those insightful answers. Perhaps I'm worried over nothing, but some of my players have a tendency to game the system... Nevertheless, I think I'll just let them create their characters however they want within the official rules, and introduce any necessary damage control in-game rather ...
