Re: TDE - The White Lake (Theater Knights I)

I'm going to try and run A Goblin More or Less -> Thorwal Drum -> White Lake since it sounds like these all deal with some kind of social reform. My current Saturday group saw the slavery in the Caliphate, and the group suddenly all shifted in unison to try and end that. Fortunately or unfortunately...

Re: TDE - Revelations from Heaven

I agree with Lambert here. Who said that you couldn't lure it away or try with some dead sheep to distract it while in combat? Bear is faster than humans! So what. Throw a dead sheep at his feet and there is a good chance that bear will not follow you. People tend to forget that you can do non comb...

Re: TDE - Revelations from Heaven

I have read the adventure and am using it as the Corner of my campaign. I.E. this village is important in some of the ongoing plots and PCs will visit here from time to time. I was surprised by your dislike for it and I have a couple of comments. 1) The adventure asks for 3-5 heroes with 900-1200 A...

Re: New player, are spell casters weak?

Don't let the book trick you into thinking you should take as many spells as the professions show. All that's going to do is frustrate you as every spell fails because you don't have enough points to put into it. Mages aren't weak, but the choices of the designers as to what utility is there and how...

Re: Release schedule update

It's the most usual stuff that comes up in the adventures all the time that's in the Almanac. From my experiences, your adversaries are usually intelligent creatures, usually humans, and these are the sorts you are going to be rolling skills against to sneak by them, talk to them, or whatnot. The Be...

Re: Help me figure out magic-users

A bit of character advancement, a bit of tweaking the character build with permission of the GM, and I am much happier with my Sword & Staff Mage. I have found that the spells which inflict negative conditions (like Paralysis and Blinding Flash) are extremely useful and can be cast at lower cos...

Re: Release schedule update

Why would anyone want a softcover Bestiary? I understand the Core Rules, but my game store can't move the ones they have in the store because they're really incomplete without the Almanac creatures. Are you planning on including those in the softcover version, or making the Almanac available in soft...

Re: What should organized play look like in English?

Regarding organized play with TDE, I'd prefer not to see it take the route of D&D encounters. I don't think that handing out magic items or experience is a good motivation to move play along with TDE's style. There needs to be some meaningful reward system for GMs beyond just the module. It's a ...

Re: TDE - Vampire of Havena

My girlfriend got me this for my birthday. I've been playing through this as my first attempt at a solo module, and it's been a blast. I'm actually learning more about how the system is intended to be run, and the way you should be interacting with the encounters. The story is really enjoyable for a...
