Re: Create a pitch for The Dark Eye

Around here (Singapore), there are basically two roleplaying communities: ⋅ The D&D community: These people play primarily D&D, sometimes for decades, with very little exposure or even awareness of what other systems exist. ⋅ The "anything goes" community: They...

Re: Create a pitch for The Dark Eye

Yeah, "realistic fantasy" is the way to go. Say: "It's a more realistic world -- there's not high-level magic behind every shrub, and the setting has an internal consistency that's lacking from the most popular fantasy worlds. The things you do in the game are more realistic -- meanin...

Warring Kingdoms nominated for Origins Award

It's a nominee in the Roleplaying Supplement category. Voting occurs at the Origins con itself. I'm not going, but if you are, vote!

Re: Second Edition?

That's excellent news, more what I think of as a "Revised Printing" than a "Second Edition." Phew! In that case I am 100% onboard for everything you put out for this game.

Re: Second Edition?

So excited about Inn of the Black Boar! But not excited at all (and probably out of the game entirely) if the Second Edition requires fans to repurchase existing content. I hope it'll be backwards-compatible with what has come before.

Second Edition?

In the (now locked) "Comments on TDE Release Schedule" thread today, Eric mentioned in passing an upcoming Second Edition of the Aventuria Adventure Card Game! This is the first I've heard about this -- is there any more information available?

Re: Kickstarter Thoughts

As for me, I'm extremely excited about this game now that I know it will be a way of re-telling quests from Aventuria's past. The history of the game world is one of the best things about TDE!

I think it's even better. A beautiful and narratively bold game. Let me know how you like it.

Re: What're you doing while waiting for the Kickstarter to end?

I'm spending most of my waking hours crying about all the nipples we won't get to see . . .

Actually, I think I'll start a replay of Chains of Satinav tonight. Thanks for the idea, MadBeard! And have fun with Memoria, which is the best adventure game I've played in many years.
