Re: Favorite Old Torg Adventure (for conversion experiment)

Just play up the fact that Orrorsh is based on fear. You can invoke a lot of fear without actually revealing anything. The Storm Knights might not even encounter the monsters as they journey. Go for the atmosphere. Any of these could be done without having a nasty monster threaten to kill the PCs. ...

Re: Request: Secrets and metaplot

The plan is to set aside an area in each realm where we're not going to mess with it. Or at least we don't plan to. The Northern Living Land is that area for that reality, and its highlighted in the Cosm book. So that's why you kept pushing the Destiny Map conversion thread to use Canada? I think o...

Re: The Destiny Map (Conversion)

Yes, I think separating player and character knowledge is the answer. My players are experienced gamers and Cosm cards are hella cool. Thanks!

Re: Reconnection is HARD

The fact that it outright specifies two cards that you can't use definitely suggests that you can use the rest. If you just couldn't use cards, it would have been easier to say that. Law school nerds known this rule as "Expressio unius est exclusio alterius" Can you break that down...

Re: The Destiny Map (Conversion)

One of the cool parts of the Magnolia action, as well as the early parts of "Operation: Hard Sell", was the fact that the Knights did not initially know they were not in Core Earth. If the Knights are asked to discard CE cosm cards for PP ones this would give the game away to most of them....

Re: On the restriction of some Perks to specific cosms.

But looking specifically at occultech, it appears to be as good as Cyberpapal cyberware despite the different Tech axiom. I have different rules editions in my head, so please forgive me if I'm jumping to a conclusion that isn't there. I read it as Occultech is big and ugly and obvious. Cyberware's...

Yes, I think this is one of those cases where gameplay is the more important consideration.

Re: On the restriction of some Perks to specific cosms.

I agree that complexity should wait for the Cosm books. I suppose I find it odd that under the RAW, at least in so far as "clean" occultech is concerned, it does substantially the same kinds of things as cyberware, but has a different tech axiom - which has the consequence that cyberware i...

Re: On the restriction of some Perks to specific cosms.

So here's what the Cyberware and Occultech Perks _actually_ end up doing. They allow you to purchase 'clean' cyberware. In the Cyberpapacy, cyberware is readily available...but it's permanently connected to the GodNet. You can be tracked, or worse. The cyberware you're spending a Perk on is almost ...
