Re: Reavers

To me Pan Pacifica reads heavily like the world of Resident Evil... but Ulisses promises there are surprises in store there... Yeah definitely Resident Evil. And the Cyberpapacy is probably a better fit than Kanawa for the "better world" type justification for oppressive government contro...

Re: Favorite Old Torg Adventure (for conversion experiment)

(As an aside, I do like how the thread starting asking about favorite classic adventures and everyone is all about The Destiny Map. No one is like "Central Valley Gate!!!" ) It's probably because everyone's played it AND it was good! The whole Relics of Power was a fantastic introduction ...

Yup, the Core Rules clearly states that Chicago fell at pages 23 & 39. Looks like Dean Winchester's chat over deep-dish pizza with Thrakmoss happened in another part of the Infiniverse

Re: Favorite Old Torg Adventure (for conversion experiment)

When I used the handy Google Map https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1fzCQAxBgS7-S0wrns2rpablQAic&ll=2.0742791308231703%2C-15.959517962498126&z=1 that Gargoyle put together, it looks like the locations used in the adventure are outside the Living Land Zone. Close to be sure and you cou...

Re: Saskatchewan

Yes, we have been receiving the news down here in Sydney as well. We're no strangers to forest fires ourselves with eucalypts everywhere, but the fires in BC seem something else. We are thinking of you.

Re: Invoking Miracles

Putting aside game balance considerations for a moment, I think backlash makes sense for magic and psionics, but less so for miracles. Another way to make the invocation of miracles risky would be that a failure requires a faith check akin to a disconnection check - ie each failed miracle tests the ...

Re: Favorite Old Torg Adventure (for conversion experiment)

An easier issue, but the first half of the Destiny Map takes place in Atlanta, which is now the proud host of a Living Land maelstrom bridge. Where would be a good place to relocate - St Louis? Although Jonathan Barker, the murdered genealogist, could be from anywhere, it needs to be a place where i...

Cyberpapacy Demons

The rules specify that Cyberpapacy demons are immaterial until summoned (p 241), and in this they are contrasted with the Tharkoldu (p 251). Once summoned, however, presumably by a spell mishap, a Cyberpapacy Demon is no longer "ethereal". Are Cyberpapacy Demons vulnerable to the Banish mi...
