Re: Guild Mage Seal

There will be information about the seals in Aventurian Magic I. The seal is always visible on the skin, and usually cannot be modified except at the academy that originally granted it. In regions where the guild magic tradition is common, most people will know that such a seal marks a guild mage, t...

Re: Some help with names and dates

Hmm... In german there actually was a small pdf supplement released together with TWL... not sure why they didn't release it in english. The current Noble Marshal is Nadjesha of Lionsford, as it says on page 5. You can find the same info in the Almanac as well. She will be detailed in "The Gree...

Re: Some help with names and dates

Jucho of Elkinnen is detailed some pages further into the adventure. The great pilgrimage was a convention adventure back in 2013 i think. Other than that, I don't think many of the german players know a lot about it either - the only place its been mentioned is in the herald. It took place in 1035,...

Re: Summoning during combat

I was using Khunchom as an example for elemental summoning. Regarding NPCs again, how often would you encounter someone trying to summon something mid combat - it would be a continued action, and it takes one hit to potentially cause the whole thing to fail. As for summoning beforehand, if an enemy ...

Re: Summoning during combat

I share that point of view. Timing aside, summoning a demon is very risky outside of controlled circumstances and has been that way since at least 3rd edition. It used to involve a check on your level (roll a d20, get a number less or equal to your level to pass) with penalties in order to control ...

Re: Summoning during combat

Currently the only way to use summoned beings in combat is to summon them beforehand and order them to fight. Aventurian Magic I doesn't contain rules on summoning, as it concerns itself with other aspects of magic. More content on summoning may be included in Aventurian Magic III or perhaps the top...

Re: Summoning during combat

Forgive me, I didn't mean to say that summoning during combat was pricipally impossible, just that it never was possible within one turn like Morgoth described.

Re: Summoning during combat

"Combat summoning" was never really a thing in TDE. The PC games made adaptations to the magic system, specifically, many casting durations were shortened to make the system more fitting to the dynamics of a PC game. The only thing that took less time in DSA 4.1 was calling a Djinn, though...

Re: Why are languages so cheap AP-wise?

There will be rules regarding learning new languages in the Compendium. Specifically, they will introduce a minimum of time a hero must spend studying the language (either through classic study or by using it during adventures) before being allowed to buy the next rank. As Bosper wrote, languages ar...

Re: The Blue Tome Adventure (Possible Spoilers)

The GM screen in question is actually another one, published in Germany after the release of "The Red Choir". It's a screen depicting the iconic heroes during the campaign, and it comes with a small supplement that contains some more material on the campaign. As for the "important Ron...
