Re: Toxic

After another talk today, here's the tentative way Toxic will work PC is hit with a Toxic weapon, takes the regular weapon damage as normal and gains the toxic lingering effect. A Character with Medicare can attend the character until the afflicted character takes another turn, in order to get rid ...

Re: Rules Clarifications (Under Construction)

Also, is it meant to entirely negate all drawbacks from Heavy weapons? [...] I think there needs to be another category for Terminator-only weapons. As written there is nothing stopping a normal marine from using an assault cannon (negating all penalties due to his power armour), which doesn't seem...

Re: Vehicle Speeds Are TOTALLY WHACK!!!

...one can argue it's exactly the way one should utilize bikes in combat. Absolutely! But would that be fun to play? Actually, WH40K's lore has nothing to do with it. According to the official lore (fluff) Land Speeder have a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour (188-189 knots) - it is di...

Re: Vehicle Speeds Are TOTALLY WHACK!!!

Range can be pretty much hand-waved by just declaring it " effective range", anyways. The bullet does not magically stop to travel, it's just that anything beyond maximum range can, in the heat of close quarters combat, be considered an automatic miss. Although a better way to represent th...

Re: Low-Tier Warriors...

How *do* people feel about the Ascension process? Hmm, I'm not sure I understood your criticism correctly? As far as I can see, the purpose of Stay the Course is chiefly to provide you with two items of cool wargear and some Influence. Granted, it's always two regardless of how many Tiers you ascen...

Re: Are Space Marines still super powerful?

I was focusing more on the intent of the device (full digestion vs "only" filtering) rather than its reliability. If we'd look at the latter, we would have to start questioning even the Orks' guns. ;) We probably also should not forget that orks are a generally sturdy organism by nature, w...

Re: Favourite W&G rules

In general, I think the best feature is the streamlining of the rules. It doesn't go quite as far as I would have liked, but it's a massive improvement to previous products that makes the game both easier to learn as well as easier to modify, in terms of adding your own ideas without fear of breakin...

Re: Low-Tier Warriors...

The main problem here is the simple fact that there are massive discrepancies in the quality both between individual PDF units and between Imperial Guard regiments. The latter are often better than the former, but not universally. This is because Guard regiments tend to be recruited directly out of ...

Re: Are Space Marines still super powerful?

I would not say that Space Marines were "nerfed", unless it's in direct comparison to FFG's Deathwatch game. Rather, they have been nudged back closer to where they are in the tabletop and the studio background. It has already been pointed out how their representation depends a lot on who ...

Re: Rules Clarifications (Under Construction)

It does, thanks, although i always though about the thrown grenades as a one time use item that was apart of the reload sistem, because the start wargear of the space marines for example is a fixed number of grenades. That bit is indeed confusing. Perhaps the numbered grenades are meant as "fr...
