Re: Errata/Faq thread

As rules-to-fluff text goes, fine - but aren't these Dragonfire Bolts? I noted that too. I had some houserule changes ready to go for the special ammo types, closer to the 40k equivalents, and eventually I came to the realisation that Vengeance didn't make sense with the W&G rules, and Dragonfi...

Yes, suspensors are very rare in the 40k background: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Suspensor

Re: Errata/Faq thread

Easy enough, rules clarification for Molten Beam to indicate how many targets are hit by a "line" attack My psyker player realised this doesn't entirely cover the sustaining of the Wall, if the Mob doesn't (or isn't able to) move out of its area, or moves through it. Do you assume the sam...

Re: Errata/Faq thread

I apologize, I think I badly misunderstood - I had no idea we were discussing Wall of Flame. My bad! Wall of Flame is 600 cubic meters of flame in a specific shape; you can use potency on only two of its dimensions (the two longer ones). Because the rules explicitly state this can be shaped as desi...

Re: Errata/Faq thread

It's already in the clarifications thread, and was before Verispex made the post you responded to. Here's the entry: "Page 356, Molten Beam. To use in an abstract method of determining how many targets are hit, normal power counts as a small blast and the upgrade should count as a medium blast...

Easy enough, rules clarification for Molten Beam to indicate how many targets are hit by a "line" attack So small blast (1 target) by default, becoming large blast (5 targets) for [1] Potency (I assume that's what "upgraded" means)? That seems like a big jump in effectiveness. I...

Re: Errata/Faq thread

Actually, a similar scenario came up in play tonight. Our psyker player used Wall of Fire, manifested through a mob of opponents. There are no rules to figure out how this would work, and seeing as it's actually based on difficulty to manifest, not opponents defence, the Mob rules didn't seem to wor...

Re: Weapon Ranges and Gamestyles

Something like this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7.5_cm_FK_38 11 km max range. Yes, exactly like that. You do realise that "maximum firing distance" is not the same thing as maximum effective distance under battlefield conditions, right? Artillery, especially non-guided WW2 artillery is...

Re: Weapon Ranges and Gamestyles

So, your basic math gives: artillery effective range being 12 times longer then human movement, being (taking 1 inch = 2 metres) 480 metres; and supersonic aircraft, using its supersonic capability, is roughly 10 times faster then human movement? Are you sure nothing wrong is here? There is a lot w...

Re: Weapon Ranges and Gamestyles

Just for standing check. Are you implying that lasgun range, modeled in WH40 tabletop as 24'', is 24 metres? I'm not implying anything - I honestly don't know what scale the devs used to convert 40k ranges to W&G ranges (though 1" = 2m seems sensible to me). I'm applying basic maths. If, i...
