Greetings from Czech Republic!

Postby Thales » Thu Jun 22, 2017 7:07 am

Hello everyone!

I'm Tomáš, but everyone in our gaming community calls me Thales. As many players in Czech Republic we started in 90's and continued in early 2000's with Dračí Doupě (Dragon's Lair - basically a Czech version of original Dungeons & Dragons). After several years we moved to D&D 3.5 and later on Pathfinder. From that point we tried many other games - Shadowrun, Star Wars RPG from Fantasy Flight Games, Numenera and Cypher System from Monte Cook, Call of Cthulhu and lately also games from Swedish publisher Fria Ligan. But something was still missing.

While me and some of my friends were interested in Das Schwarze Auge for many years our German wasn't good enough to play it. We were amazed by the world of Aventuria that we explored through videogames and we enjoyed that it took a lot of inspiration from European history. We also like the magic is quite different from western fantasy worlds but still can be very powerful in it's own ways. Of course we immediately jumped on Kickstarter and we have a great time ever since. :-) Not only US players were eagerly waiting for the English version of the game. ;)

Well then hello and welcome to Aventuria neighbour :)

Happy to hear that my favourite game spreads around the world.

Thanks, Bosper! As a board game enthusiast I visit SPIEL at Essen every year. With knowing enough German to order food or book accommodation but not to engage in some interesting conversation it was always hard to just look at all books that were displayed on DSA booth there. Now it should be more interesting. :D

Welcome to our little community,
It's nice to see the Dark Eye spreading it's wings.

At Essen they often have the upcoming English books before they reach the market. I bought the Beastiary last year a good month or two before it was at my friendly local gaming store.

All the best.

> Lambert - Really? I haven't noticed. But the true is that I spent a lot of time with friends from Burning Games (FAITH) and Sam from Modiphius. Will spend more time on Ulisses booth this year. :)

> Bosper: I'll be there this October so we can enjoy a beer or two while discussing favourite games and sharing stories. It's always nice to meet other players in person. ;)

Welcome aboard Thales. It's always nice to have more people here :)
