Come out to New Brunswick where we measure long distances in time.

Seriously no one knows how many KM from one place to another, but if you ask how far they will say "hour and a bit" or "two hours" or what have you.

Just do what we Brits do. Run both systems in parallel with no common reason why one is used in a certain area other the other.
Or in the case of temperature use both simultaneously for bonus confusion points.

Americans do this too. What’s wrong with our cultures?! :(

For America, it's even more weird because we're officially a Metric country and switched over … man. Back in the 70's I want to say? Maybe further back than that.

BUT!

We then take our metric measurements and convert them to imperial measures (American imperial, not British imperial of course) and sell everything that way.

Lots of extra work, just because people get spooked at cm over inches.

You can see a bit about that here, where they go to look at one of America's two official kilograms.

In our last episode, the players were sent to the Nile Empire to find a mysterious material to assist in the destruction of Stellae. I had mentioned the "Law of Masks" as noted in the previews, and so they set about with Streetwise in Cairo to find an proper "dealer" (since I deemed you can't just take any old Halloween mask).

Obviously, we had no rules with the preview, so we just went with a base +1, with the assumption that as their identities gained in fame/infamy, the bonus would be greater ("The Masked Jackal is complete badass! run for your life") based on assumed toughness (and obviously, if they screwed up a lot, the bonus would go down.

I don't know if this is what US is planning on, but could be an interesting house rule/take on it.
