Nile Empire Battle Maps

Postby Greymarch2000 » Mon Jul 22, 2019 9:23 am

Since I run my game of Roll20 I like to find both thematic images and battlemaps that I can use. Aysle and Living Land were pretty straight forward, there's a lot of generic D&D-esque and Jungle art out there. When we start looking for "30s Pulp Style mixed with Ancient Egypt" is where my Google-Fu starts to fail.

Anybody found any good sources of virtual tabletop battlemaps that don't look like medieval Europe?

I found the Conan tile sets to be really good for pulp and non-European.

This Desert Temples and Caves set is useful if not inspired

When I'm looking for a specific map to drop into roll20 I use Pinterest. Here's a few good ones:
Phoenix Chamber: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/437552920 ... 0/?lp=true
A large Collection that I follow: https://www.pinterest.com/rockon0609/good-roll20-maps/
Pyramid Interior: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/911275924 ... 9/?lp=true
Maphammer shares most of their work here: https://www.pinterest.com/MapHammer/rpg-battle-maps/
Maphammer's Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/maphammer

Finally, depending on your skillset, there is Mapforge. It is free and the learning curve isn't too steep:
Apparently MapForge is not great and I was thinking of Campaign Cartographer (which isn't free).

The Battlemaps Subreddit is a great resource: https://www.reddit.com/r/battlemaps/sea ... rict_sr=on
