Two quickies about the Troll Stat Block

First - why are some of the skill totals in parentheses

"Skills: Dodge 10, find 6, intimidation 15, taunt (8),
trick (8), unarmed combat 13"

And Second, does Stomp roll unarmed combat to hit?

For reference:
• Stomp: Strength (15). This attack counts as
Favored against any creature smaller than
Large.

Thanks!

Grae

PS

Same question about Skill totals in parentheses for the Viking Draugr

"VIKING DRAUGR
Skills: Dodge 9, find 6, maneuver 9, melee
weapons 11, missile weapons 10, stealth 9, trick
(7), unarmed combat 9 water vehicles 9"

Is it intentional for the Draugr and Draugr Wingsman Chainmail (pg 23) to lack the Torso designation? A quick scan through the adventure has chainmail consistently being torso only, except for these two entries.

And with that I have completed my deep dive of Act 1 (well except for the two pages of questions above - sorry guys I am trying to be helpful, I hope it doesn't come off as nit-picky).

Does a good success also grant the armor (since an outstanding success negates the damage entirely the armor is no longer relevant at that point)?

Yes.

On page 13 in the Reality Foci side bar it says

"While worn by an Ord, a focus allows an ally
from the same reality to reconnect him to the
Everlaw of One by succeeding at a reality test.
Foci provide no benefit to reality-rated beings."

It's not the Everlaw of One that the ord needs to reconnect to though is it? It is her home cosm? From the TE core book, the Everlaw of One is what strives to wipe out contradictions, it is what has caused the disconnection. Do I have that right? If so how should I phrase that in the submission form?

Thanks all! (and I'm trying Greg, thanks for the nod - still working through it as fast as I can with all of the everything else going on =D )

Grae

Yes, it should be the Everlaw of Two.

Should some/any of the Cyberpolice in the encounter on page 13 have a focus? It isn't listed on their equipment (page 21) but I can't figure out otherwise why that sidebar is on that page.

Thanks,

Grae

They all should have it.

This adventure seems to favor these types of consequential interactions so it makes sense to me, but I wasn't sure if I missed something.

*edit* same question for the defending trio of soldiers inside the palace (assuming the SKs save them).

GM's call. For small groups I'd have them come, but not for large groups.

When is this bullet in play? Is there a trigger of some sort? Also, should this be formatted differently so that it doesn't look at first glance like a continuation of the sequence of fights that leads to it?

Once I understand how this is intended I'll submit an issue for it (and include the typos as well).

The Gauntlet should have "defeat four squads" instead of three. This last one was added back in later.

graethynne wrote:I am going to walk through the order of the attack as I *think* I understand it, and please tell me if I messed anything up.

Assuming that the PCs are there before the bombs drop the order is :

- Longships start unloading draugr at the docks
- bombs launched
- wyverns drop draugr on the roof to harass the PCs (and fly away)
-DSR
-Draugr from the docks invade the ground floor of the palace
-PCs (and surviving danish soldiers?) enter the palace and fight their way to the upper floor
-PCs (and surviving danish soldiers?) engage with the squad trying to Assassinate the Mayor.
-PCs Exfil the mayor and the chase ensues.

Assuming all of that is correct, this paragraph implies that the squad trying to murder the mayor attacked from, the roof? Is there some text earlier that I missed that clarifies how/where they struck? Seems like there could be a mention of it, maybe as the PCs are charging in the front doors of the palace or something.

THE MAYOR’S LAST STAND
The strike on the upper level was swift; the staff
expected attack from below, not above. The draugr
made short work of much of the security team on
the upper level. They have the mayor trapped in an
office but haven’t yet overwhelmed her position.

No, they could have come from anywhere really.

Is this intended to use the Cover & Concealment rules from the TE Core book? It doesn't appear to, but if not the word cover is a little confusing.

Grae

Yes, but also it's Dim, in case the PCs do something so there is no cover.
