Roll20 Sheet Update

Postby MalicWanderer » Fri May 11, 2018 11:06 am

Little late but thought it might be useful to let everyone know I made some changes to the sheet on Roll20. Specifically, I added an option for buttons in the roll results that handle Up/Possibility/Coup-de-gras rerolls. Optional because it's built on a mildly hacky abuse of the roll20 initiative system, in order to make it work without the API.

There's a new little cog in the top right of the sheet, just click on that to open the 'settings' section and you can turn it on, like so:

Then all you have to do is make sure you've selected a token before you click the roll buttons, and you'll get results like these:

If you don't have a token selected it'll give you a warning message and the buttons will not work very well. Also I forgot to change the possibility template to actually say "Up" instead of "Possibility" when used for such, but that middle result is from pushing the Up button and the bottom one is from the Possibility button. If need be you can tell from hovering over the roll, Up's not having a minimum makes the roll-code a lot simpler.

@maIIc - many thanks for the update! I had actually tried to do that in the last version, but my coding skills aren't quite what yours are. And I hadn't noticed it because I've been playing in a game where I have hacked the sheet in a couple of other ways - until I saw this message. I hope you'll feel free to work on it as much as you want - I think I have taken it about as far as I can.

@roderick - you can access the sheet by creating a new game on Roll20 and selecting the Torg Eternity character sheet. It will automatically contain that feature.

That reminds me...it would be useful if the magic, psionic, and faith skills were included in the “Weapons” section.

I would love to see all of the skills available on the sheet as default. There's not really that many of them. Having to manually enter Find on every enemy when you have stealthers gets a little old after a while ;)

Ive added a "mod" column next to the base attributes and adds, so that temporary adjustments can be added/subtracted on the fly without having to remember the orginal value.

Like if you get blessed with a miracle giving a +1 Dex, you can add a 1 to dex and everything adjusts accordingly. Or if you aim, you can add the +4 as a fire combat/energy weapons mod. The adds/base attributes dont change, so you just adjust back to 0 when the effect ends. I'd be happy to send a copy to someone, if they want to use it.

I took the powers off the main page (moved to the powers page), shifted interactions to that table, moved Reality to its own table (allowing adjustments to attribute, as i use Cha) and did a permanent Find on the others table as that is a very commonly used skill. I am not a computer person by any means, but copy/pasting and changing skill names to add/adjust skills is very easy to do. Just make a copy of your game, so if you mess something up, you dont mess up the original.

That's an easy update. I can get that done, just not sure how to add it to the roll20 official sheet.

Also, putting the stats in order that match the official character sheets would be cool, but that's just me. :-)

Super easy. I noticed that also.
