Wrath & Glory Starter Set

Our pre-order is running for two more weeks, but we are starting to think ahead towards getting Wrath & Glory into your friendly local game store! With that in mind, we’d like to talk about a product that will be one of the first to arrive, the Wrath & Glory Starter Set.

The pre-order All-in Bundle includes a number of items that will be packed individually into the special collector’s box. But these items are also going to be available later as part of the Starter Set. Here’s the list of what this retail box set will include:

  • 10 Wrath & Glory Specialty Dice (9 black, 1 red)
  • Beginner’s Rulebook and a Starter Adventure (“Escape Da Rok”)
  • 2 Double-Sided Battle Maps
  • 6 Pre-Generated Characters on Deluxe Character Sheets
  • Acrylic Tokens for Characters, Enemies, and NPCs

Whether you have pre-ordered the Player Bundle or are just waiting for retail release, the Starter Set is the perfect box of everything you need to get started playing Wrath & Glory. Pick it up by itself for a great introductory game, or pair it with your Core Rules for the full Wrath & Glory experience. It is also the only product that will include the Wrath & Glory specialty dice!

Look for the Starter Set at your local game store this fall!

    Also in German?

    1. Eric Simon says:

Eventually yes. But that will be part of the overall German release. Keep an eye on Ulisses Spiele DE for info on that.

Hello! Will/Can the Starter Adventure (“Escape Da Rok”) be also included in the Pre-order? Pretty please?

    1. Eric Simon says:

As it says here, all of these items are individually included in the All-In bundle. The only thing you can’t get in the pre-order is the Starter Set box (because we couldn’t put a box inside a box).

As someone who used to sell PS2 games, I have firsthand evidence that you can, in fact, put a box in a box.
(Seriously, Sony used to put 4 units of a game in a box, then 3 of those into a bigger box, then 4 of those into an even bigger box, and then 4 of -those- into another bigger bigger box. (192 units in 48 total boxes.) Unpacking huge game releases was a cardboard nightmare.

        1. Eric Simon says:

Yes, that was sort of a simplification of the problem. The issue is that the CONTENTS of both boxes are the same size in terms of length and width. So either the Collector’s Box ends up with space around the books and materials not contained in the Starter Set – which is definitely not a good idea – or we have to print materials of non-standard size to go in the Starter Set. That’s a lot more hassle than it’s worth.

There are other possible solutions to this at varying degrees of complexity, but the simplest answer is to just not do the box within a box.

    Got an approximate price?
Might be worth buying for another batch of dice and tokens.

    1. Eric Simon says:

      MSRP should be $49.99

Gonna buy this just for the Absolver on the cover, good job artist thats a very neat choice in chapter. Its actually sparked interest in allot of the community already because its not a main-steam chapter.

Out of curiosity, will the Tau be included as adversaries in Wraith and Glory? How about things like Titan knights as player characters? I am so excited about the possibilities in the Dark Imperium.

    1. Eric Simon says:

Neither of those are part of the first wave. We have mentioned the Tau coming in the future, though that’s down the line. I don’t know if we have any plans for Knights, since those are such a huge scale difference in terms of RPG combat.

Meanwhile we wait for the phiscal product. The PDF would be realesed at the end of the month or When?

    1. Eric Simon says:

The Core Rules PDF will be sent to pre-order customers about a week after Gen Con, and released to the public about a week after that. The items in the Starter Set will be soon after that, as soon as they’re ready.

  7. sebastian czentner says:

The Pdf that comes with the bundle, When is the realase?

  8. ArchVoullf says:

Where will we be able to get this in the UK once its released?

    1. Eric Simon says:

It should be available through normal retail distribution channels. I don’t more than that, but we’re working on getting those details.

  9. Chris says:

    is this out yet?

    1. Eric Simon says:

Not yet. We had to wait on retail while we fulfilled preorders.
